Berahino offered new contract - Worldclassalbion - 08-07-2016

Just reported on SSN that WBA have off Bratahino a new 4 year contract to remain with us Huh WTF!!

Is it so we can get more money for him or are they serious??

I know I am in a small minority on this, but as I have said before if the lad is going to knuckle down and get on with his game I have no problem putting his antics of the past in the past.  If he can go out and score us 15 next season then great.  How much would a young, 15 goal, English striker cost us?

"IF" everyone one at the club are happy, they deal with him day in day out and know where his head is now, then I am happy to accept their opinion or if it is a rue to increase his value so be it.

All that said, there is a big difference between being offered a contract and signing one Whistle  (ducks behind the sofa waiting for the flack) Wink

Salop...  with you all the way on this one.

It all comes down to whether Berahino DOES sign a new 4 year contract.  If he does, its an indication that he has realised he has been a 'silly billy' in the past and hopefully, he would return to the good old days when he was banging them in for fun.

If he doesn't sign, the indication is that he has no interest in the club and we need to get rid ASAP.

His antics of the past will have put off many clubs and a very much sideways move to clubs the likes of Watford, Palace or Stoke etc wouldn't be one I think, that would be high on his ambition list unless of course, a club are going take the risk of offering silly money to a player with a highly publicised petulant streak.

In all honesty, I would like to see the first option and give him a final chance.

Reportedly offered 4 years at £70K per week so broadly speaking costs of £14m makes him a cheap option provided of course he is contracted to keep all of his toys in his pram

Personally, I would love to see him sign up. We know he has the ability to score 15+ goals a season if he concentrates on his football rather than his tweets.

Sado Berahino will reject a new contract offer from West Bromwich Albion with Premier League rivals Stoke City and Watford interested in the 22-year-old striker. (Sunday Telegraph)

There`s no I in team, however Sado sounds about right.

Reporting or speculating? As I doubt the Telegraph have a reporter in Austria with a pair of running shoes Smile

Saido has so much negative history at West Brom and I have always felt, for the last 18 months, that we should cut our loses on him. The new contract offered to him only matches (or close) what he can get elsewhere and that allows him to have fresh start.

I understand what you all say about getting fully behind him if he were to sign - but I just don't think he'll get behind us.

Granted it does only match at best, but the real question I think he will be asking himself is where can he progress quicker to his goal as a top six club. All he has on the table so far is a sideways move, though he might feel Stoke is a better bet the others would be arguable a downwards move. Watching him in the Austria videos he looks happy enough, maybe not as happy as Yacob, but no one looks happier than Yacob.

SB may just think well if I move sideways it does portray me as still being a bit of a sulking brat and might jeopardise moves later in my career, where if I stay with a release clause, I will have to perform to get my dream move.

All speculation at the moment but I can not see him going anywhere but Stoke at the moment should he choose to leave.
