Well, I wouldn't call it boring but neither was it a thriller. Both sides played some very good football in spells but both defences were superb and limited the chances to a handful, mainly from distance.

Thought Hutchinson was in trouble a couple of times, once when he got up a bit gingerly after a tackle early on and then when he appeared to be trying to retch something up off the pitch before coming back on. However, he played on and didn't get booked, so all is well.

All the players had reasonable games without anyone raising their level enough to make a difference. Probably the least effective player was Forestieri. Special mention to Hunt who, even though he still let them get in behind a couple of times, defended the back post very well on a few occasions to avert danger.

Anyway, a reasonable point gained and on to Charlton on Saturday where hopefully we can finish this spell of games with another win and then the players can rest up over the international break and keep on rolling later in the month.

I saw it through about 6 players, I saw it hit the side-netting and the ref gave a corner, I assumed he had taken a shot.
Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men are great only if they are determined to be so. For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.

I regularly hear the commentators say after a match that it wasn't one for the purists well this one probably was because there was much passing of the ball and excellent defending but little excitement for the crowd.

I can pretty much sum up the match in one sentence. Two sides that valued continuing their unbeaten run more than winning the match cancel each other out in an almost chanceless game at S6.

We had a handful of half chances with Hunt & Nuhiu both hitting the keeper when clean through but at an acute angle, Lee got crowded out when well placed in the box and Pudil hit a a first time shot wide from 20 yards. Brighton had a goal mouth scramble when Westwood could only parry a low cross and Lees had to quickly block March's follow up shot.

We lacked our usual intensity and looked a little leg weary after so many matches. The midfield worked hard but never created a worthwhile opportunity while the strikers never had a chance but didn't create enough movement either.

Usually we push harder in the final quarter but nothing happened. The crowd were quieter than normal and Brighton looked more secure once the threat of Joao's pace had gone and Nuhiu seemed intent on running at Brighton defenders.

This match was a perfect yardstick for where we are at the moment. Brighton are well organised and efficient but lack the invention to make automatic promotion. Hull, Derby, Boro & Burnley seem to be able to rattle up the wins and look good bets for the top four positions. We are currently set to finish between 5th & 8th. We have played five of the teams above us and won just three points out of 15. We have to beat most of these teams if we want to break into the top four positions.

This situation might change and we are probably the side improving the fastest and also the side least likely to be affected by injuries as we have the biggest squad, which will help in the new year.

Charlton should be one of our easiest matches all season although it may be a bit tougher as most of our players seem to be a bit leg weary at the moment. Hopefully they will be so bad that we can win any way and then re-charge our batteries.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

hes going to have to make more than 2 changes saturday MS , or we will just burn ourselves out like weve done the last 2 games !! Hooper has to start and id even bring back semi as he will get stuck in also barry should bring something fresh in !! rest wallace forestiti and hutch before he snaps in two !!

Nuhiu did miss a sitter last night but it wasn't the chance everyone is talking about.
Pudil put a fantastic cross in for him, but when your striker lacks the desire to get there first then he's unlikely to win it .

Amazing when things are going so well it gets quiet on the forums!!  Still we have had to put up with enough shit over the past 15 years and its nice to not have to argue whether we play Darren Potter or JOC or god forbid both in midfield!!!!
