Watched West Ham v Bournemouth, cracking game with loads of chances and a deserved win for the Cherries. They are playing just like they did last season, attack, attack, attack!!

Joao may be the eventual solution to this but we need to find an all round striker to lead the line and currently I don't see him in our squad. We can all see the potential in Joao but it's going to be slow. We can't use him every game and he isn't going to get 20 goals this season. I said at the time we should have gone for Wood, he's proving me right so far. I think we played the second half looking to get beat, rather than win the game. Hutch dropped deeper alongside Semedo and Nuhiu was even more isolated than in the 1st half. Semedo was outstanding, keeping one of the best no 10's in the division quiet for 85 mins. I think the wingers have got to get closer to the CF as Matias did for his goal, to be fair to Nuhiu. His run to create the space was excellent. I can't see Hooper as the answer in the current system. We need a big powerful CF that's more mobile and a better goal scorer than Nuhiu. I would ring the changes again v Oxford Price Palmer Lees Sasso Helan Semedo McGugan Lopez Sougou Bus Lavery Charlie, Stateside, Maddix etc stick your ratings up. I'd be interested to see how you would rate them compared to me.

Christ, I typed half of it out then caught a button sending the browser back
![]() I feel that had I seen the first half I wouldn't have been as pissed off as I was. According to a lot of posts, most felt we played well in the first half. It seemed to me we almost capitulated after L**ds equalised. We dropped back far too deeply inviting endless pressure as if we were happy for the point. Desperation soon set in and we hoofed it up to a drowned out Nuhui, and when we did try to play it across the ground it was often sloppily passed to a L**ds player. I liked the look of Sasso. he seemed strong and doesn't mind getting forward. Felt he did well at the back with Lees during the late onslaught.

I thought we were the better side in the 1st half looking comfortable on the ball and not giving them a proper look in. Nuhiu, although not actually receiving the ball (or being beaten to it), was making some decent runs to pull their defence out of position leaving gaps for the others to exploit. Matias' goal was the icing on the cake from just such a run. At HT I could only see one winner and was wondering how many we would get.
I don't know what was said at HT but we came out as though we had won already and sat far too deep and resorted to hoofing it to an evermore isolated Nuhiu. From that point is was only a matter of time, although I think the keeper could have done better by cutting out the cross for their goal. He dived sideways instead of forward from what I saw. That did wake us up a bit and we began to play a little better with Palmer having a good run before getting on to the return only to put in a powder puff header. Honours even in the end. We controlled the 1st half, they controlled most of the 2nd. Price - 5 At fault for the goal and crap distribution Palmer - 6 Still worries me defending but good ball for the goal Lees - 7 Would have been more but for a bloody stupid booking Sasso - 7 Looked comfortable Wiggins - 6 Nutmegged before the goal, solid apart from that, tried to support Matias Semedo - 8 Shackled their star man but a few misplaced passes Sago - 5 Mostly anonymous, couple of runs that went nowhere Lee - 8 Never stopped running, gave us the bite in the middle we need Hutch - 7 Ditto, but booked again Matias - 7 Wonder goal, could be a great if his team mates can get on his wavelength. Reminds me of Carbone Nuhiu - 6 Did a job dragging the L*&ds defence out of position, let himself down with poor control when he did get the ball Subs Hunt - 5 Only one or two touches Helan - 4 Ditto but with a (unfair) booking Lopez - 4 no time on the pitch Semedo gets my MOM by a short head from Lee ![]()
