I agree with your last line, but I still wouldn't sign Beckford. Stick Lilley up front for a few games instead of out on the wing. Might surprise you.

Rumour going around that Huddersfield and Leeds are interested in signing our RB/Midfielder Tendayi Darikwa.

Yes he is. Wouldn't surprise me if he leaves.

I wonder who he'd choose to go to? A club with a crackpot chairman, a manager who may not be there 5 weeks into the season, and no guarantee of financial stability, or a club with a stable manager, a great chairman and a guaranteed first team place. Decisions decisions eh

Dean whitehead linked to town.
Town also set to announce a new director of football operations or whatever fancy title we have given it sometime this week

dont think we will get hooper, probably wont even be in for him anyway, we know what the examiner is like as a newspaper, they find anything they can online and use it as a credible source, only to then say that their 'sources' at town have ruled out any move. the truth probably is that the examiner no longer has any links at town as seen with one of the nationals picking up on stuart webber joining town the day before, with the examiner taking until after the announcement to even notice that something had happened. afraid to say that the life of local newspapers is ending, they no longer produce newsworthy articles and maybe that is just down to the standard of the journalist or the fact that they are failing to use their own journalistic instincts to go out and find a story, to make contacts again at the club, instead they rely on social media and just hope they havent been led astray, they've become the fat cat thats wanting to be spoon fed, in a industry of dogs out to eat other dogs in order to get the best part of the meal, not the scraps.
i can see it being a long old summer where town are linked with player x, only for it to emerge that town were never interested (more likely outbid) leading to fans being fustrated at the lack of movement/ other teams signing the players that we wanted here. only for town to sign someone who was never linked before with the natural reactions to a signing emerge. then at some point town will 'announce' that they are not in the business of selling key players (ie wells/butterfield) like they did last year, only for said player(s) to exit the club, with the change of tone of 'it was a good deal for the club and we can put this money towards improving the side whilst continuing to become self sustaining... then repeat process of players linked and slagged off before someone not linked signed and similar outcomes.
summer is summed up!
