Well some great comments from Liverpool and Derby fans all over the boards. I would say 30 good comments for every bad one, the common theme was not good enough to hold down a first team Liverpool spot, but when called on would run through a wall for the team. Derby well you can imagine their opinion of him. If you have not seen it YouTube his turn in the San Siro something to relish.

Ted Cann sold to Rotherham.

First league game is 9th August v Blackburn. It’s madness that our squad will not take shape until the start of September.

Thats’s 5 games (12 points and a League Cup) with an incomplete team.

You're assuming we're going to buy someone, Stairs? Maybe what we see is what we get. (But I hope not!)

Madness it may be, but it's the same for everyone, surely! Blush

Yes, the same for everyone. But still feel that all the business should be completed before the first ball is kicked in anger.

Certainly looks like the club will do business and we will have a different look to the squad, if some of the current links turn into deals.

Yup, definitely agree with that - it's absolutely nonsensical the way it is, although I suppose it CAN give unexpected opportunities to youth/up-and-coming players to impress?

Regarding the second point, it's great to be linked with a lot of pretty reasonable-sounding players.... but I'm always suspicious of the press picking up on tenuous links and making 2+2=5, as in "Ooh, Ryan Mason.... Spurs.... Youth players" etc etc.
Time will tell, I guess.

Having come out of a deep sleep following our diabolical end to last season, I am concerned a little as to our only signing one new player so far..

I know there is speculation as to some players being bought in, but know it hasn't always happened.

We need to get players in now to know the other players and bond, and listen to what the new manager wants.

I also notice good footballers on the cheap are being snapped up by competing teams in the championship... so come on baggie management pull your finger out.

Hope you are all well, and enjoying the good weather.

"Certainly looks like the club will do business and we will have a different look to the squad, if some of the current links turn into deals."  There's that word again IF, which in my experience rarely happens, but we shall see won't we?

We are still restricted financially and so I guess we have to know our money situation first before over cooking purchases.

Reyes Cleary has gone today. So that’s Cann as well plus the closed loans and set of released players.

We do have one player in and he looks very good.

At the moment I am relaxed about it and trust we will get players in. But I fully understand how frustrating it is to see others adding to their squad.

Just have to hope they regret that when we unearth a few players or negotiate a great loan.

Looks like Lawrence shankland will be leaving Hearts, as he has spoken to us maybe we will be front of the queue for a free agent.
