2025 Summer Transfer Window Thread

By all accounts there is going to be a huge clear out of players in the next few weeks, due to contracts being over.
For once, I sense that our HC will have the support of our owner regarding the players he wants to bring in. I'm not expecting a limitless budget by any means, just that all will be clearer much earlier; CC will have a definite idea of the type of players HE wants, and will be able to recruit much more effectively from a larger pool, rather than being left to choose from all that's left with a week or so to go before the season starts.

Let's hope so anyway! Blush Cool Laugh

Sounds like the Corboran family won't have time for a summer holiday this year

Not too many surprises I wouldn’t think; offering Bartley a new contract is, I feel, sensible if we’re unsure about Kipre’s intentions, although I’m hoping both he and Mowatt will re-sign. Obviously the loan players have to go back but I wonder if we might try to sign Johnson, particularly if the speculation about Diangana returning to West Ham is true, as it would provide the necessary funds. Not sure how I feel about Grady leaving, if it was to happen; I know there has been general disappointment with his performances but I’ve always liked him and always thought he offered us something a bit different.

Yeah Steve - Grady is a strange one isn't he.
With the obvious talent that he has, he can very often disappoint, but he's always likely to spark something.
I don't know..... I DO like the 'unpredictable' like him, but maybe he's just not produced enough consistently...?
Difficult one!

I liked Grady but he is not the same player since his mate Pereira was sold. Rumour is 7m plus 3m add ons. I personally think that is a good deal, but if we could squeeze a bit more out of it even better.

We probably still owe a bit on the original purchase, so possibly some funds will be offset.

I am happy with most of the releases announced today, but am worried whether all those we want to sign new contracts, will actually sign.

Is this Grady speculation being reported anywhere else, other than in than in the oracle of football knowledge, 'Africa Foot United'? (I am being serious)

If we can get money for Grady get rid, he never lived up to the hype and his best period was his loan spell. We paid a lot of money for his potential and he never delivered it. He was good when Pereira helped him but hasn't pushed on.

That’s the only source I’ve seen which sort of makes you question it’s veracity
