We have played our game in hand so all clubs now have played 35 games and only 11 to go.
This week we lost to a Hull side which looked like we deserved a draw to me, then an injury ravaged Albion squeezed a one nil win against Wigan.
We now stand in 9th position.
We continue to be 9 points behind 3rd with an inferior GD.
We are 4 points from 6th, and they have a 5 goal GD advantage over us.
I stand by my prediction last week that we need 7 wins and 2 draws from 11 games to reach the play offs, this looks like it may be difficult with the injuries we are incurring, but it is possible.
This weeks teams who are aspiring for the play offs who play one another are Sheffield u v Luton and Norwich v Sunderland.
We welcome the terriers at the Hawthorns, sure we will give the appropriate welcome to Colin.
Hope we can carve a win, but I think Colin may just bring a bus to park!

(This post was last modified: 12-03-2023, 23:35 by harrogatebaggie.)
Week 36, a win against a spirited terriers side one to nil.
Up 1 place to 8th.
3 points from a playoff place and we both have a similar GD.
9 points from 3rd which is now probably a step too far. But boro are now only 4 points from Sheffield Utd and the blades have another difficult game in the week. I know we beat boro recently but I do believe a Sheffield Utd side will be an easier game in the play offs than boro. Utd played well in the cup but their league form at present is mixed.
6 wins 2 draws and 2 losses needed for a play off place.
Full set of fixtures midweek this week with us away to Cardiff, who will be without Kipre due to our loan agreement. Hoping CR7 Callum Robinson doesn’t have any points to prove.
Only game where two top 11 teams meet is Sunderland v Sheffield U.
Then we have 2 full weeks off, due to the fa cup, a chance to get BTA, Bartley and Palmer back to full health and fitness before we play again.

The next 3 games are must win.
Our last 4 games are tough.
IMO on current form we won't make it.
We must go gung ho for wins, draws are no longer enough. COYB.

Blue, I was getting concerned pre weekend, but yesterday's results have stoked the hope fire into a medium flame rather than an inferno. Millwall losing, who are up next at home, a win and we are two points behind with a game in hand.
Still to play Norwich who are not setting the world a light, Sunderland who are off the boil, Sheffield Utd, tricky, some easier on paper fixtures. Big need to improve away form.
But yes I agree next few games need as many points as possible to build confidence, keep us in touch and in form for a final assault into and on to the play off lottery.
If we do go up I won't be unpacking a premier league suitcase, without a multi multi million pound squad investment, it will be a short holiday visit rather than a long term let with our current personnel.

Back from my hols, so quick update before the weekend fixtures start again.
Sat in 9th, played 37, with a game in hand over most of our rivals, but the game in hand is Sheffield Utd. So only 9 games to go.
5 points off 6th place, Millwall with a similar goal difference, and we play one another on Saturday. Big game, massive, a win puts us in the mix, a draw is barely enough, but still gives us chances, a loss and it gets very difficult and would then need other teams to slip up.
Burnley will not be caught, but it is getting very interesting for the second automatic place between boro and the blades.
Big games this weekend.
Fri Burnley v Sunderland
Sat
Luton v Watford
Norwich v Sheffield Utd.,
Baggies v Millwall. (Have I mentioned this is a big game)
Still think we need 6 wins and a draw to be in the play off lottery!
Enjoy your weekend all.

With Dara and Molumby out IMO the mountain we need to climb has got higher. I fear it's all over now.

Useful 1pt yesterday. However we have a 6 pointer in the offering with rotherham away, and qpr at home. and with blackburn playing norwich, burnley.shef u, miiddlesborough/burnley, and millwall/luton playing over the same time, there will be points lost by some of them, getting us closer to 6th place.
Shame about our injuries, though. Couldn't have come at a worse time because of stupid euro games that few people care about.
