Ok, so I'm over the initial disappointment of us hiring Steve Bruce, and although I strongly believe his appointment is a mistake, I am prepared to give him a chance and see what the next few months bring. He does know the championship and has had some success at that level. Many pro's speak highly of his man management and his ability to get the best out of average players. So let's see what the future brings and give him a chance.

I feel the same way as you, baggietrousers. My initial reaction was extreme disappointment but I've come to see the logic in this. And, in all honesty, short of no appointment and letting Mozza and Brunty take temporary charge until season end (which I'd have been happy with), I can't honestly see who else would have been a more suitable name. I don't know the overseas market and there may have been unemployed managers there who could have done a job for us but, domestically, I'm not sure there is anyone better at this level. So, like everyone else, I'll certainly give the guy a chance and support him. A positive result at Bramall Lane would be a very welcome start

After reflecting on the SB appointment I am keeping an open mind.
Is he the best qualified to gain promotion from the Championship ? Probably
He was available and no compo was required.
All in all he is probably the best fit to get us promoted IMO.
So I'm prepared to back the guy and the football cant be any worse then Val was serving up.
We are due a new managerial bounce, I believe he will keep the tried and tested players which is to be expected. But with changing the tactics and formation we should expect a better flowing game system, which the fans should appreciate.
If he can reduce Livermore and Phillips playing time and introduce the likes of TGH - Clearly that could be a big positive.
With maybe a couple of free's and Johnstone coming back with O'Brien and Dike to come back play off's are a minimum expectation.
Interesting times ahead COYB
