Josh, I think it already is. We’re back to the Albion of earlier in the season. Can’t defend, can’t keep possession, no pace and no-one creating space. Although it’s unfair to pick out anyone for criticism, I just have to say that Diagne is the biggest donkey I’ve seen at the Hawthorns for many a year. I cannot believe anyone thinks we should sign this guy, he’s a useless lump. This is embarrassing, we are being slaughtered

I can not believe what I'm watching, embarrassing doesn't come close. Baggiesteve spot on about Diagne, absolutely useless!!
There's not one out there who is fighting for the club tonight and the sooner this season is over the better. Ship out the dross (which is most of this lot) and start afresh with young hungry players and coaching staff.

Just watching the half time review and we could honestly be 7 down

I think we're seeing evidence today of why p*ss poor sides like us usually have to go away and park the bus.
Today we've come out all guns blazing, with no choice but to go for the win, but just been picked apart by a much superior side. A side who pass and move around our bunch of statues. Leicester are playing a lot of long ball, but we simply can't mark their runs.
The annoying thing is that we've practically given them the game by not turning up. I mean, they have had 3 easy goals and we've almost put 2 more on a plate for them too.
The 2 full backs are dreadful. Centre halves couldn't mark a bingo card and I've seen tougher tackling in the under 11's. Genuinely don't think either full back and O'Shea are anymore than average Championship players.
Going forward just as much of a joke. Unlike others, I think Diagne has been good for us to date generally, held the ball up and got us up the pitch, but today both he and Pereira look like disinterested lumps.
Robbo and Phillips look like they are running through treacle and I actually forgot the latter was playing.
Yokulsu having his worst game in the shirt. Maitland-Niles is trying, he's probably the only one to come out with any credit as well as Johnstone.
Now the game is gone, I'd give Grant and Grady a run. Let's see if Grady can get at their young full back and see what Grant is made of. Allardyce says players have been banging on his door asking for a chance, well now is the time to give them one. As long as it's now Sawyers and Livermore that is...

Slick, I agree that I would definitely give Grant and Diangana a run. Can’t agree with you about Diagne; he has one attribute- he’s big. He has no pace, struggles to control the ball and let’s not discuss his finishing because he makes HRK look like Mbappe

Sorry Slick, I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect that, but Diagne is absolute crap.

Someone help me out here. If you’re going to sub a striker, why do you take off Robinson and keep off Diagne? Which out of those two is likely to get us a goal?

The beauty of the game is we all have different opinions. I think Diagne has the best first touch and passing of our forwards. I also think he typically looks a goal threat.
Granted, he's not very mobile and his finishing is erratic to say the least...
I doubt he'd have been anyone's choice if we actually had a budget in January, but do feel he's contributed to our overall improvement as a team since January though because the ball sticks up top with him. I think having a proper number 9 has helped keep the ball and play higher up the pitch. I'll never knock HRK's work rate and toil, but I just don't see a striker in him.
But i'll 100% agree that Diagne was appalling tonight. He does have that hit and miss factor, but today was by far his worst performance in the shirt. That could be said about a few of them...
On the plus side, that is probably the toughest of our remaining fixtures over with.
In hindsight, we would've been better parking the bus and playing for set plays considering Leicester has all of their big guns back. But I guess Allardyce would've been slated for that approach so I can see why he went open in the first half. Unfortunately our personnel isn't anywhere near good enough to go toe-to-toe with a side like Leicester when they're so close to full strength.

Well we had half a season without him and the ball never stuck up top.
I'm not saying he's good but he's the only proper striker at the club IMO. He'd score double figures in a decent side despite his erratic finishing because he just sniffs out chances.
The rest are just wingers and not even very good ones either. I mean wingers can usually play and Grant's first touch is like a trampoline.

You’re right, it’s about opinions and that’s the fun of it. I’m afraid I’ll never share your view of Diagne because I think he has nothing going for him except nuisance value; however, to be a nuisance you have to put yourself about, and I feel he rarely imposes himself on the opposing defenders. From my perspective, we’re fortunate he’s on loan and can go wherever at the end of the season, just as long as we don’t sign him. Having said that, if we offer HRK another contract then I’ll firmly believe the lunatics have taken over the asylum.
Leicester are a very good team but we made them look world beaters tonight. I can accept they’re technically streets ahead of us but I can’t accept the lack of basic ability that we showed tonight, combined with a lack of desire and commitment. I’ve criticised Diagne but probably only Johnstone came out with any credit. The rest were all dub standard.
