Big Dave gone to try and sort out the mess made by a certain Mr Pulis again?!

To be fair I think this mess was created by Mr Monk, Mr Pulis just wasn't able to do anything with what Mr Monk left him and essentially mutually agreed to quit before he ended up with a relegation on his resume!!

Do you guys think this is a good move for us??

Personally, yes.
I think he's a great guy. The job with us came too quickly and too early for him, and we were already a ship with too many holes (.... how times change..!).
But his methods and personality got some good results straight away, as I remember, although not enough to save us.
A couple more years as a HC in a lower league will have done him good I'm sure.
I'll be looking for your results even more now, SCO! Thumb up

It's difficult to say without knowing exactly what's gone wrong with your boys. Big Dave is unquestionably a lovely bloke, but in his time in charge at Albion he always came across more like a motivator than a tactician. That was good at first; when we were bound for Premier League relegation he got a few good performances and results at the back end of a miserable season, and generally seemed to bring some positivity to a troubled dressing room. But then the following year we cobbled together a very unconvincing promotion challenge courtesy of two or three quality players scoring tons of goals to cancel out the flood we were conceding at the other end. I've never seen so much pointless fannying about at the back as Albion were guilty of that season, and we got punished for it over and over again.

It seems like he was gradually dragging Doncaster in the right direction, and put together some decent runs of form, though the godawful results they've had in the last month suggest that consistency is still lacking in his management. But now he's at Wednesday, Big Dave will hopefully get the best out of any players who are underperforming, and if survival proves too much then he at least has the experience to rebuild and mount a promotion campaign in League One.

Good luck to Big Dave but I do think he has made a mistake. He has been given the time at Doncaster and after finishing 9th last season, he has had them battling in the play-offs this season. To go from that to a team battling to stay up in the league above is going to be a big jump for him.

If Wednesday give him time then I think he'll do good things in the next 18 months. He should be able to get them out of League One next season, if they go down this season or may even be able to drag Wednesday out of the shit this season like he almost did in his 6 matches in the Prem with Albion.

So Wednesday have ballsed up again. Don’t they realize that the sequence goes Pulis, Pardew, Big Dave. They’ve missed out the best part.

Anyone got any film/photos of Big Dave for our Owl friends? (nicknamed after a bloke in a TV ad as I remember)

Really hope he does the business at Hillsoborough. Handsworth boy and a Christian - just what this Game needs.

You mean the original Big Dave from the Pot Noodle ad? This was him.

German team Schalke are now on their 5th Head Coach of the season. David Wagner, Manuel Baum, Huub Stevens (Caretaker), Christian Gross and now Dimitrios Grammozis.

Regardless of how bad our season has been, at least we are not Schalke.
