The £30 price cap on away tickets, this is something that should be introduced at lower levels of football and especially the championship

No chance of that happening. Ticket prices make up 60%+ of revenue for Championship teams (at least those without parachute payments) so the only way they can fund a push at getting into the PL and all its riches is to charge the fans more. The P&S rules of no more than a 13m loss each season or 39m over a rolling 3 years is also restricting the clubs that don’t have parachute payments to compete. Until the tv money in the championship outweighs the ticket revenue, we can expect to see higher ticket prices in the Championship.

And yet we managed it with £179 season tickets and a maximum of £30 entry on match days. It can be done they just choose not to

Yeh, but some of those "big" clubs have "big" ego's and spend big money to ensure end of season mid-table mediocrity AmChaff, Wakey. Whistle

We'll be one of the bigger wage spenders next season due to the hangovers of some or even a lot of contracts. Even though everyone supposedly is on a guaranteed pay cut, you can bet they'll be paid more than the season we went up (before the promotion bonus kicked in and doubled their money).

Lord only know what the wages will be next season.

Looking at our financials for last season we spent £62,613,144 on 63 players and 211 staff
Now, I'd imaging some of those staff would be out of the door as will some of our 'bigger' wage earners. Add in that every players contract has a relegation clause in it that reduces wages and I reckon that will take us below a wage bill of below £30million next season(it was £21,732,329 in our promotion year)

Now looking at other clubs financials for last season its astounding just how much some of them pay out, and yes obviously some will need to cut spending where as others will have increased

Villa £73.3million
Boro £48.7
Cardiff £42
Brum £38
Reading £35.3
Hull £31.1
QPR £30.7
Forest £28.6

and that little lot doesn't include the likes of Fulham who could have massive problems, Leeds Utd and Sheffield Wednesday.

I guess it depends how Dean wants to approach next season?

I for one enjoy the Championship more than the Prem. More exciting involvement, closer competition, is all to me, not playing the Six. Besides we only have a small ground that takes 24,ooo so how can we compete with the bigger grounds for people coming thru to turnstiles.

They were supposedly being sensible, didn't last long did it? It will all go for a ball of chalk again if they hit the play-off's. Current numpty owner already hinted at bailing if they don't go up.

In theory, we should be in a much better position financially to attract better players than we were in when in the Championship before. But only if we are prepared to spend the parachute windfall wisely. Unfortunately, I don't believe we will spend, and therefor gain little advantage. All for unearthing cheap talented players, but we will need them ready for the here and now for the Championship kick off, not prospects for the future. Bit of a lottery WITH a good DOF.......Without...... FINGERS X.
