If we wanted an up and coming manager I would prefer to go for somebody who has already managed in the Championship. Potter is operating at a much lower level.

I think we need Harry Potter at the moment "Wingardiam leviosar" and watch us rise Laugh

The only Potter we'll be getting is Brian Potter from Phoenix Nights Laugh

We need someone.
Pardews not going to keep us up.
He's shown how tactically naïve he is already.
He's not what we need to rebuild in the championship.
Some people are slating the idea of Potter, saying he's too inexperienced.
Compare him to another potential up and coming manager from the championship, Gary Rowett.
What management experience had he had before he took over at Birmingham City?  Burton Albion.
He was unfairly sacked for a bigger name (Zola) and they floundered.
He is now doing a good job at Derby.
Graham Potter has experience... European experience, albeit with an (arguably) lower level team.
He shouldn't be dismissed so easily just because he hasn't managed in league one or the championship.
Everyone's  got to start somewhere, and some are better at it than others.
He's someone I perceive to be better at it than others, no matter where his skills have been applied.
As you can probably tell I am a fan of what and how he has achieved, and I don't see any reason
why he couldn't apply those skills in a different environment, one he has played in himself.
Personally I see it as far less of a risk than Alan Irvine and Pepe Mel (who I liked......... Mel that is)
And they where both appointed without Premier League management experience.

I would be delighted at his appointment and would perceive it to be a positive step in the right direction.

That's if he would even agree to come?

For me Pardew has shown zero ability since he arrived.

His tactics and team selection is largely baffling, he's shown zero ability to lift the players, he has no plan B.

Even basic tactics like having centre backs up for corners seem to have deserted us.

It took him weeks to stumble upon his best team and when he did, he changed it for no reason.

But is it a shock he's so bad? He was sacked from Palace because they were bottom. I don't think they had a bottom of the table squad.

IMO to give us a hope of staying up, Pardew should've been sacked already and a new manager should've been appointed for the Huddersfield game. But much like earlier in the season, when it was obvious Pulis had lost the plot, the board have taken too long.

I hope i'm wrong and we beat Huddersfield and then go on to hit a spell of form. I do expect we will win today but I don't think he has the Pardew has the tactic nounce to oversea wins away from home, unfortunately. We desperately need them.

As for Potter, he wouldn't be my first choice, but can he possibly be any less tactically astute than Pardew? For me it would be a gamble, but worst case would be that he'd be equally bad. If it does come to sacking Pardew now, it will be too little too late as that will mean we have dropped another 3 points so we'd probably be relegated whoever we appoint. If anything, then it could be the best time to take a gamble.

Given Potter's achievements with Ostersunds and their style of play. I'd say it's highly likely he would be a better option than Pards anyway.

The one thing we never seem to be is the club that makes brave positive decisions - Pardew and Hodgson before are typical 'safe' bets. As was Pulis at the time.

I'd love to see Potter or another 'bright new manager' get a chance with us. Shame its taken a fall out of the Premier League to make this a possibility.

Quantum says:
I'm not expecting Pardew to have to baby sit the players, they're grown blokes and should know better. What I do expect though is for him as the manager to have the respect of the players. The incident shows that they do not respect his orders. And if they can't follow a simple instruction to be back at a hotel for a particular time, I don't have faith in them taking on tactical instructions from him either.

Totally agree with your last paragraphs, Quantum Thumb up

Totally worried if Pardew goes, what then, and who is there to save us as we wave to Wolves as we pass Divisions - and maybe Villa? Doesn't bare thinking about.

we need someone with passion, passion for the club, a natural leader, not afraid to say it as it is, not frightened of the big egos, tactically aware and someone who knows the Albion fans and is respected by players and fans alike.
Chris brunt anyone?
