Yacob can look as bemused as he wants might not have gone to ground with feet raised but jumped in with 2 feet, and that's a straight red in my opinion.

I lost the stream for a bit so missed the red, but it was hard enough with XI on XI.
For me, the tactics are all wrong. If you're going to sit 2 banks of 4 against Chelsea, you
need your floating player to be close to Fabregas. Instead, we're giving him 20 yards of
space and he's still creating things regardless of how compact we are.
Surely it's time for the board to take a serious look at the manager. Under him we don't
have the organisation to do anything against decent sides away, nor do we have the class
to beat poor sides at home. I appreciate he's been let down by Yacob, but you can't come
into games like this giving gifts like the second goal.
My only hope is that Chelsea take their foot off the gas. They could already be 6 up and the
way we're playing, they could easily beat us 7 or 8, which would be a severe confidence
crusher going into this tough run of games.

Quite agree Saft - we are scared to death of them. Just hope we don't totally capitulate and we see a cricket score.
Given the talent at Chelsea's disposal, going out with the defensive selection that Irvine's made, its hardly a surprising scoreline. The only way to get anything out of playing a team like Chelsea is not to be frightened of them but put out an attacking line-up and go at them 150%. Better to lose fighting than just lie down and let them walk all over you.

Probably the most absurd game of football you'll see this year. Comedy defending hands Chelsea the points within 25 minutes. Red card turns it into an hour-long attack vs defence training session.
Pressure now on to turn in a good performance against Arsenal.

After the first 30 minutes, it looked like it could be a horrendous match but we dug in and managed to keep the score down to a respectable scoreline. We were never going to beat Chelsea but we had to be careful to not get hammered which would have happened if we played an attacking line-up.
Everything needs to be freshened up for next weeks match. We will be at home against a team with a poor defence. That means a couple of more attack minded players in from the start. I would bring Gamboa in for Wisdom, Pocognoli (if he is fit) in at left back for Baird, Morrison for Yacob, Varela for Dorrans (again if he is fully ready) and Anichebe for Berahino.
Not starting Berahino may look funny but he has been very quiet in the past few games and he hasn't offered very much although you could say that we haven't played to his strengths. Giving him a spell on the bench, even if just for 1 match, should gee him up and he will learn that he has to perform if he is going to keep his place in the team.
Foster
Gamboa-Dawson-Lescott-Pocognoli
Morrison-Gardner
Brunt-Sessegnon-Varela
Anichebe
I expect AI to only bring in Pocognoli and Morrison though. Everything needs freshening up but I don't think AI will do it.

The only good thing that happened today were:
1) The Dingles lose 0-3 at home
2) Sjoke lose to the bottom club, Burnley, at home 1-2
Why are we so scared of these top teams ? When I were a lad, it didn't happen - we'd give them all a whuppin' but, that was a year or two ago. Settle for 2-0 when we went down to 10 men - I was fearing a cricket score !
I'd like to see Ideye given a run out against the Arse.... won't happen of course but agree with your team Josh.

Absolutely not good enough. 2-0 flatters us, it really does. We looked like the chinese booky had been in his phone to us and told us we had to lose today. Every free kick was abbysmal, the stats are even worse so much that we only had 25% possession. Really poor couple of games now, and deeply worrying. Everyone keeps mentioning norwich last year and we absolutely cannot be that team. Do we want to become a sunderland every year and survive at the last minute? There was a time i thought we were better than that. Not so sure now, we could be in for a very torrid time as i can't help but look at AI's track record. OK we were always going to struggle against the masterclass that is Chelsea, but the least you can do is be competitive. That, we were not.

I think we all expected us to get beat but that yet again it was another shite performance...could of been a cricket score if it wasn't for Foster
26% Possession
1 Shot on target
0 Corners
And ONE mediocre manager!

Oh, and that supposed red card? If that's a sending-off offence then the game's well and truly gone. Both feet weren't off the ground, he got the ball in a 50/50. Is he supposed to roll out the red carpet and let Costa have the ball? Madness.
