Moore saved both Tranmere and Hartlepool from the same position before falling on his own sword. Offer him a stupidly low salary with a very high bonus if he keeps us up then move on.

If we get the next one wrong Dev, we are already up to our necks in Sheeite (yes Blue - Muslims) it will be up and over our heads by Christmas.
GC has left us in a sticky lumpy tangy Cross and Blackwell thingy. We've got half a team and at least one of them thinks the supporters are wankers !!! Our best chances of getting out of the crap are loaned out far and wide. Meanwhile back in cozyville, a Chesterfield 11 will take on a Clay Cross town 11 at the "We do more than print ground" - no I'm not taking the piss. Are we forward planning for the next couple of seasons?

Im open to whoever comes in IF they are fresh and progressive ,Im havent got a problem with Branston taking charge even though AC says hes not having the job ,yeah right. If we win the next 2 under Branstons charge AC will be putting the interviews on hold , thats if it gets that far and I havent got a problem with that .Some people are against it because they see him as one of AC's cronies ,no idea if he is but if he can get us to win games so what !.
I wonder if he will pick the team for the Clay Cross game .If knew there were first teamers playing I'd go along ,Im only 3 miles away

I'm closer than that but not sure the idea of first teamers will attract my interest.

Hey only once have I been bold enough to make a prediction that would entail me exposing my body in public and failed .
Talking of the rare occasions when I have been wrong I must say Joe Anyon actually looked like a keeper on Saturday .He didnt have a great deal to do and couldn't be blamed for the goals but he did make a terrific save early on and tipped a few over the bar which shows he has got a spring in him.

I think clubs go out of the league generally as part of a process of decline. (Orient went from play-offs in Division One, to challenging in Two, to National League.) Ronnie Moore at best briefly halted the decline at both Hartlepool and Tranmere, but neither were stronger when he left and both ended up where they were going before he arrived ....... If we had under-performing players I'm sure he could get them together to perform a bit better, but whether that would work for our squad of odd-bits I dunno.

I think we are undergoing the same process as Hartlepool and Tranmere. The only hope I can see is that an enthusiastic long-term manager not only can save us from relegation this season, but also sparks a revival within the whole club. An old, tired man like Ronnie Moore seems highly unlikely to do that. I'm not hopeful that it is within the compass of any of those on the bookies lists. Steve Cotterill's experience is far the best, but potential does lie with Jack Lester or Kev or the unmentioned Hump.

I so love Pooch writing, "the rare occasions I've been wrong". Now that's a true optimist! Even reinterprets the past to fit his own blue-sky thinking ........ even adds his little touch of irony.

Carson says Ronnie Moore not being considered, that's him a nailed on certainty then.

Oh god, perhaps Ronnie's not being considered because he's already got the job. Could we pay Port Vale to take him? Is that allowed?

It seems to me we have signed five blokes whose job is to play up front and be involved with goal scoring. At the moment the return from them seems largely to involve goals from the penalty spot. I'd like a manager with an eye on how to score some goals. And I'd like him to be appointed before Saturday afternoon so he can watch the game at Luton and start planning to beat Cheltenham! That should mean our new manager is likely to be a former centre back who won't be appointed until mid October.
