Sole ownership? Is he going to sell the club and still remain owner of the stadium and make the club pay rent? That happened to Coventry where they got locked out of their ground.

Everyone but Mr Allen was apparently surprised by his resignation. He is clearly a very clever man and would have foreseen some of the chaos it would cause. He has also refused a return to and reversal of the position at which four directors voted down his proposal; so clearly that position was not all he wanted. He therefore must have wanted the directors to reject his proposal in order to reach this position.
St Charles Owl could not have put it more succinctly, we need to know Mr Allen's end game. Yes it might be sole ownership, the other 40% of the club is worthless without his 60% moving in the same direction. His aim might also have been wholly benign if we knew all the circumstances.
Pooch, I know your heart is in the right place and blue all the way through, but unless we start ditching jobs to save money - like Humphreys replaces both Wilson and Morgan, the goalkeeping coach goes entirely ........ I can't see the point in worrying about results. I know we'll go down to the loyal core of fans as it becomes obvious we are going to keep losing, but I'm afraid that comes with this territory.
One thing we do have to remember about Mr Allen is that the circumstance of his loans to us and then his Chairmanship (willing or otherwise) not only tied us to him, but also him to us! From his perspective he is shackled to this permanently drowning man he once dived in to help. We want more work, more investment, more of his time and energy and we never become any more proficient at swimming. To mix the metaphor, we are the cuckoo in his nest.
On the other hand when Plymouth went bang, those owed money by the club were awarded less than 1p in the pound. That quickly knocks noughts off £5 million and would wreck local suppliers whose cash flow is reliant on the club paying what it owes.

I was speaking to a Manchester City fan and he was shocked that our club is up for sale for £15 million. He said there's players at City who are worth more than our club he couldn't understand it. I think the reality hit him how big the divide is between the Premier League and the other 72 Football League clubs.
