Dave Allen Resigns - spireitematt - 14-11-2016 Chesterfield FC @ChesterfieldFC BREAKING NEWS: Dave Allen has announced at the club's AGM that he has resigned as chairman and director. RE: Dave Allen Resigns - bluepooch - 14-11-2016 I think the saying 'Be careful what you wish for 'comes to mind RE: Dave Allen Resigns - spireitematt - 14-11-2016 We are well and truly fucked RE: Dave Allen Resigns - bluepooch - 15-11-2016 Some deluded idiots on that message board are actually getting excited about doing an AFC Wimbledon. RE: Dave Allen Resigns - spireitematt - 15-11-2016 It may come to that Pooch. I bloody hope not! I would take playing in the conference over going bust. RE: Dave Allen Resigns - Devongone - 15-11-2016 The reason Mr Allen gives for his resignation is even more disturbing than that finance has so completely tied us to him. If he were prepared to waive interest payments and the rest of our board were not ......... we obviously have no one prepared to put the club's interest before their own. Obviously Mr Allen may have wanted to provoke his own resignation and picked an issue which he knew the board would reject and from which he'd emerge smelling more of roses than ordure ........... I wouldn't blame him! Ideally I'd like us not to be in the thrall of a chairman like Mr Allen, but we remain in his debt ........ and everything anyone sees at the ground is down to him, that's 1-4 at home all the way to a new ground. I don't know what we do without him. It's Brexit plus plus plus; is Nigel Farage available? At least Sheffield is now a blank on government maps (produced for HS2). It's what we've wanted for years. But have we any plans for how we'll cope with all the di-da refugees? RE: Dave Allen Resigns - spireitematt - 16-11-2016 Does anyone think that DA will come back if the rest of the directors forgo on their interest payments? RE: Dave Allen Resigns - bluepooch - 17-11-2016 As things stand we need him but I wish we were in a position where we didnt .In some ways he has done great things for the club but it is clear in the last couple of years he has lost the plot or just lost interest. I wish the club were self sufficient and Im not going to point the finger of blame at any one individual because I am not privy to what goes off in the day to day decision making but there is clearly something wrong and I await the next step with a great deal of urgency and a little anxiety. RE: Dave Allen Resigns - spireitematt - 17-11-2016 Looks like we are in dire straits. Alan Biggs @AlanBiggs1 No going back re hands-on ownership. Understand Dave Allen's name has now been removed as a #Chesterfieldfc director at Companies House. Alan Biggs @AlanBiggs1 Club's position critical. Over £200k needed urgently. I believe period up to the weekend crucial if to keep running as is & avoid admin. RE: Dave Allen Resigns - Devongone - 17-11-2016 At least if we were in administration we could stop worrying about staying up. Surely to go into Administration there have to be unpaid bills, taxes owed etc .......... and there has to be a hearing. As none of that was lined up before the AGM I don't believe Mr Biggs' time-scale. Mr Allen only resigned on Monday. If that means by the following weekend we are actually fcuked, then he has royally screwed us and held us prisoner for years. It would be an act of hatred on his part ........ I think Mr Biggs may have been a Brexit Remainer. Bolton and Southend have both hovered on the edge of administration for over a year - they didn't just go bam, Chairman resigns end of club. Surely the crucial question is on what time-scale is the club contracted to pay back Mr Allen? Unfortunately I cannot imagine a timescale upon which we can repay him ........ so we have actually been dead in the water ever since we moved to the Proact. Had we better start being nice to Ched Evans father-in-law=to-be? I'll do a Euromillions tomorrow. |
