There's no way we'd pay the whole of his wages but I don't see why extending the loan wouldn't be possible. We were talking about this on Saturday. If Holt's never going to be in Rossler's plans then surely Whelan would rather have us paying part of his wages than having to foot it all himself.

Seems Chris Powell is on the case from his comments this weekend

Just said on radio leeds that he has talked to the board but it will be up to grant Holt if he accepts the terms. He says it would nice if we could keep him til the end of the season. Oh I wish.

I think Town will put a limit on £15k a week on what we can pay, that's what we put towards Beckfords when he arrived on loan.
Our biggest problem could well be that Holt is putting himself back in the shop window for others to see and if Wigan don't start scoring soon he might just get a second chance back at Wigan

Yippee. Probably helped a little by the rush of bodies out the door on loan in the last week or so.

Didn't think he had his best game today but he does something that unnerves both the opposition and the crowd no matter what!
He should get more goals but he didn't get a lot of opportunities today and I'm sure that will come.
He is with us until the end of the year now but this might involve a new loan in Jan for the rest of the season. Wigan might want him back but think they will struggle to move him on transfer wise given his salary, which works in our favour a little.
