Leeann taking the time out to talk to the media and backing the manager during a period of the season when it's not happening for the team and critical murmurings are not just emanating from the press but they are coming from many Hibs fans as well. Stubbsy had an opportunity, before the upcoming SC semi-final, to manage a good win v Falkirk and the team performance was decent until the last quarter of the match against a side that generally lines up to try and stifle Hibs and they didn't disappoint with the cynical tactics that Houston employed on Tuesday night. Stubbs' tactical role in conceding to another typical 'steal' of a draw to a weakened 10 man side is rightly being questioned in Hibs quarters and no wonder. Hence Dempster's intervention to endorse his position within Hibs FC and what the club and Stubbs himself have achieved so far this season and what they hope to achieve by season end. IMO it's a pivotal moment, leading up to a SC semi-final at Hampden when there is an opportunity to somehow win a one-off cup tie and instil a positive momentum to a Hibs team that keeps 'tripping itself up' in matches that they really should be winning with aplomb v opponents who are not even close to being world beaters that Hibs generally outplay.
IMO we don't have a well balanced side at the moment and it's up to Stubbs to manage the changes in order to remedy that problem. Also it was evident on Tuesday night, when Gray retired from the match, that Hibs are short of a dominant captain and decent leaders on the pitch. The initial lack of organisation, when Gunnarson came on to fill the RB position, was startling and Hibs fans in the stands who could see it clearly certainly responded quick enough. That has to be sorted out and Stubbs must emphasise more assertion by certain players on the pitch - absolutely imperative!! I'd opt for Darren Mac being Hibs captain! I liked his handling of that dirty little c###, Baird, and, at one point in the second half I thought he was gonna banjo him and he would've deserved it too!! Any player that leaves a 'late foot' in a clearance by an opposing player deserves the wrath of the referee or the wrath of the player that he has intentionally tried to hurt - one of the most dangerous challenges in the game and they were randomly doing it all over the pitch!
