Well it looks like this is the worst time for Hibs to be travelling along the M8 to play at Ibronx! So what to do? I think the manager must deploy our best defensive line up. I've previously commented that Rangers don't like playing v Hibs. Hence most matches very tight affairs with referees having significant roles in giving them the result. As usual, I wanna know who is the assigned referee for this match as it is already becoming clear that refs are starting to "favour them" again - did it really ever change anyway!!!!!?????? The Hertz thrashing on Sunday was never a 5-0 result based on their level of participation in contesting this match, but capitulated badly in the 2nd half and weak CB positions exposed by the "fat boy"!! The refereeing by Gollum noticeably home biased as usual!!
One thing Maloney has to do is field Porteous to mark up the "fat boy", but do it with strict discipline and let this numpty retaliate - he'll most certainly feud and retaliate!! Our prob is if the Scot ref in attendance is a coward or brave enough to call it, a disgrace even seeing it in this way, but it is clear this is a perceived prob in the Scot Prem and doesn't go away!! Our other prob is the fact Boyly is gone! However, he has hardly contributed in Scot Prem matches v them where some draws are the only positive results attained by Hibs. Maloney's team choice will be interesting. Toss up a coin re the choice of striker btw!! Just hope the player scores and surprises us - long overdue!!!
Lastly, I must say I'd luv to see Hibs finally "turning the corner" and giving them as good a duffing as in the PS cup semi-final, but highly unlikely based on current Hibs form and observations.
