Rangers v Hibs, Wed 9 Feb, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 07-02-2022 Well it looks like this is the worst time for Hibs to be travelling along the M8 to play at Ibronx! So what to do? I think the manager must deploy our best defensive line up. I've previously commented that Rangers don't like playing v Hibs. Hence most matches very tight affairs with referees having significant roles in giving them the result. As usual, I wanna know who is the assigned referee for this match as it is already becoming clear that refs are starting to "favour them" again - did it really ever change anyway!!!!!?????? The Hertz thrashing on Sunday was never a 5-0 result based on their level of participation in contesting this match, but capitulated badly in the 2nd half and weak CB positions exposed by the "fat boy"!! The refereeing by Gollum noticeably home biased as usual!! ![]() ![]() GGTTH RE: Rangers v Hibs, Wed 9 Feb, KO 7.45pm - Inverurie Jambo - 07-02-2022 The referee is Nick Walsh- not good for Hibs imo. Did he not do the game earlier in the season at Ibrox? RE: Rangers v Hibs, Wed 9 Feb, KO 7.45pm - Inverurie Jambo - 08-02-2022 Believe what you will but I sincerely hope Hibs win tomorrow night. As far as I’m concerned, any Edinburgh rivalry between us goes out the window when either of us are playing any of the arse cheeks. I will always want the Hearts or Hibs to beat them, just doesn’t happen often enough for my liking. Hearts eventually got pumped on Sunday but they had chances in the game when the score line was still tight. Hibs may also get similar chances and if they manage to take them, who knows. As 0762 alludes to in most of his posts and rightly so I may add, Mr Nick Walsh could be a major problem as the guy is absolutely useless as a referee. How this guy is given the opportunity to pick up approximately £1000 per game is beyond belief, yet he will no doubt have a huge influence on the result, which should not be the case and is totally wrong. Anyway, rant over and get right intae they ( swear word) RE: Rangers v Hibs, Wed 9 Feb, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 08-02-2022 https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/maloneys-tactical-look-at-rangers Shaun Maloney's perspective of this up n coming match at Ibronx is what I'd expect from him. Gotta be positive and a fighting spirit and "bravery on the ball" are all good and fine, but no mention of the fine art of scoring goals and how we are gonna resolve the abject failure of various players who are consistently profligate in front of their opponents' goal. The issue has been mentioned by him once before (after the Celtic match and Nisbet's amazing miss at the Hoops' back post when it was easier to score!!) after various good scoring opps scorned by players who seem to be "shot" of any belief to convert a decent scoring move, none of them are natural finishers TBF! GGTTH RE: Rangers v Hibs, Wed 9 Feb, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 09-02-2022 It looks like Paul Hanlon can't "shake off" that heel injury and IMO he will be greatly missed for this particular match because he plays well v them and generally has had a very good season up to the point when he picked up that injury. RE: Rangers v Hibs, Wed 9 Feb, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 10-02-2022 A 2-0 defeat is no real surprise, nor that sevco got a pk early on for a clumsy challenge from mcginn (although it looked to me like he got the ball) and we got a great penalty shout refused. However i still feel relatively hopeful things will pick up. Mueller and Jasper look like good additions and Cadden had a good game. When we have everyone available there is the basis of a decent side there. Biggest problem is how poor our forwards are - Doidge is miles off it and Nisbet just doesn't have the good touch and movement that a striker should . He has regressed badly. Sevco weren't that great either for all their possession and walsh as their extra man. |
