Going by interviews earlier, Rodgers left John Kennedy to say his goodbyes for him Rodgers has really dropped Celtic in it 'big time' in his haste to get back to the EPL.
I'd advise him to avoid Glasgow for the foreseeable future!!!

Certainly Celtic fans have now been given a measure of Rodgers' commitment to their club. It was enough to win trophies within Scotland, given all the advantages the club has in any case, but Celtic's real aim ought to be regularly winning games in Europe, rather than just putting up the occasional brave battle against one of the top sides.
Besides the attraction of Leicester's money I'd guess Rodgers realised he didn't have what it would take to move Celtic on to that next level. Like Rodgers I'm sure Lennon can continue Celtic's success in Scotland. But I wonder how happy the fans are with the seeming permanent status of the top dogs in Scotland becoming underdogs once they go abroad. We all tend to accept a shortage of competition at home is problem for Celtic, but has it also become an acceptable excuse for under-achievement? A treble treble papers over a hell of a lot of cracks doesn't it?

I think Rodgers realised that lawwell would not change the clubs financial strategy for him, and that any progress in Europe would elude them because of that and possibly damage his chances of a big move in the future.
Its always been obvious he wanted back to the EPL, he feels really hard done to with what happened at Liverpool and is keen to make his mark. I'm not sure Leicester is the right club for him though. The players didn't like puel's style and rebelled against it but it doesn't on the surface seem that different to Rodgers.
He's a very good manager though, really strong at developing players.
