So I decided at 6.55 to nip down t'Cross (well Holmgate)and have a look at the game .Unfortunately they wouldnt let me in with the dog so I watched from over the fence .I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the set up there and apparently they have made a good start to the season according to a bloke who lived across the road .
I got there about ten mins after kick off so I didnt know if anyone had scored but within 25 mins Chesterfield (I wont call them Town out of respect for Clay Cross Town)had scored 4 and Laid back Joe saved a pen although it was a poor one .
It was good to see Adrian Whitbread there although him and MA were there in an observing capacity ,Miguel Llera was in charge .
Rowley looked lively and Sinnott ran things in midfield without putting himself about too much, even Muggleton looked decent so maybe they have all found their level !.Shaw ,Smith and Amantchi also took part.
I left halfway through the second half after a raft of changes but apparently it ended 6-1 so was a 'good workout' for the fringe and youth players .
