Clay Cross Town - bluepooch - 22-08-2018 So I decided at 6.55 to nip down t'Cross (well Holmgate)and have a look at the game .Unfortunately they wouldnt let me in with the dog so I watched from over the fence .I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the set up there and apparently they have made a good start to the season according to a bloke who lived across the road . I got there about ten mins after kick off so I didnt know if anyone had scored but within 25 mins Chesterfield (I wont call them Town out of respect for Clay Cross Town)had scored 4 and Laid back Joe saved a pen although it was a poor one . It was good to see Adrian Whitbread there although him and MA were there in an observing capacity ,Miguel Llera was in charge . Rowley looked lively and Sinnott ran things in midfield without putting himself about too much, even Muggleton looked decent so maybe they have all found their level !.Shaw ,Smith and Amantchi also took part. I left halfway through the second half after a raft of changes but apparently it ended 6-1 so was a 'good workout' for the fringe and youth players . RE: Clay Cross Town - Dancingwilldoit - 22-08-2018 Amanchi took part? He scored a hat trick. He's pushing for the first team. RE: Clay Cross Town - Devongone - 22-08-2018 Good on yer for goin' Blue. Our genius website reports a funeral director sponsoring a stand, but not this actual game!!! I suppose the Lillekers have recognised that watching Chesterfield men's thoughts inevitably turn to mortality and the grim reaper. AND at least we know no one can ever say Clay Cross are only watched by one man and his dog ...... RE: Clay Cross Town - bluepooch - 22-08-2018 He must have scored the two goals I missed Dancing...To be honest he didn't see that much of the ball when I was peeping through the fence but if he got 3 sausages fair do's . |
