I have just got back home from the memorial service. It was brilliant but so very sad. Jason Roberts’ tribute was wonderful.
I spoke to Johnny Giles outside and spoke to him about the 74 promotion when he was our player manager. Told him I was only 7 at the time but thanked him for what he did for us. He was very humble and said it’s ancient history but I told him it was ALBION history and we all remembered his time with us with great fondness.
Also spoke to Super Bob, Ian Hamilton, John Barnes and Lee Hughes.
A brilliant day to celebrate a brilliant man RIP Cyrille. To quote a famous quote
“WHAT YOU DO IN LIFE WILL ECHO IN ETERNITY”
BLACK COUNTRY BY BIRTH, ALBION BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND MY OLD MAN
You go in the cage? cage goes in the water, sharks in the water....Our Shark

One of the nicest sentiments I heard, even though I am not religious was;
"God must have needed to sign a centre forward and had his choice of them all"

A wonderful man, not just as a footballer as we fans may know him; but such a widely highly regarded yet modest and inspirational figure to those who followed in his footsteps and achieved what they did due to his inspiration.
The football community and beyond is now truly the poorer for the loss.
RIP Cyrille.
