Pooch I too thought it was a fantastic cross for the first goal as well
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

Dev you've hit the nail on the head,It wont be easy to find another Davies,he was a one in a million find for a club of our size ,he had everything ,strength, pace and tremendous ability.
As for him returning for his swansong with us I just worry that when time catches up with him eventually,it doesnt go sour if he was to be with us at that time.

It would be awful if it went sour Pooch, but at some point he's got to decide on a sudden end to his entire football career, or perhaps a gentle move into areas of the game other than just playing. I just think if he wanted to make a transition it would be wise to make it with a club in which he is held in high regard.

Kevin Davies always gave us what he'd got on the day, like Danny Wilson (who would eventually have brought Barnsley round if they'd left him in place, because his nature is just to keep working till you get it right!). They are in stark contrast with my own favourite from the past, Phil Bonnyman, who couldn't do that and would have lost what was special about him had he tried.

Finding another Davies would be very hard, but he did show what a fat kid who the Blades didn't want can achieve, which must be an inspiration.
