Have asked whether Varela is injured. The word at the moment is that he isn't and was available. Will try to check for sure later. #wba

^^That was just before KO. Last I've seen on it

Saido obviously played that lovely flick through to Bobby for his miss, but on the other hand Bobby gave Saido a couple of nice little layoffs for his shots outside the box. It looks as though TP will be going down the 442 route, in which case I would be happy to see that partnership continue to develop. Vic is more of a super-sub anyway and can't start the majority of games through injury. Only other option atm is Samaras, who I think could do a job as a hold up man for Saido and Sess to play off.

I kind of agree about the nice layoffs but if we want Berahino as a second striker I don't see why Ideye would be picked ahead of Anichebe if they're both fit and Samaras would also be ahead of him for me (does he play as a striker often?). Ideye doesn't offer as much as the others imo.

Harry, cheers. That's quite worrying really. If he wasn't injured its possible its either a fallout or TP doesn't fancy wingers?? Which is opposite to what's been muted re Lennon and Townsend.

Varela is a must for me at the present time Huh

Solid win. The first time in ages where I genuinely knew we would go on to win once we were 1-0 up, with no heart in mouth antics. Got to say  Hull looked poor. Said at the start of the season they would be relegated. Having seen them for the third time this season I still think that will be the case.

Slightly concerned at the amount of unnecessary hoofball at times, especially from McAuley who is normally the least likely culprit out of the defenders. Possibly highlights the need for Mulumbu or Gardner who can drop off and pick the ball up from deep.

Decent win though in a game that was almost must-win.
