I'm going to get a lot of stick for this, but I honestly believe that Wilson would have kept us in L1.

I dont think youre alone there Matt but i don't agree.
We were getting hammered nearly every week,we had record losing runs and this was after a year in the job.
There was only one way we were going .

We weren't though we were losing games by a margin of a goal or two and if Danny had been given a chance to bring in players in the January transfer window there was a chance he could have kept us up.

Carson was worried because we didn't take enough away fans to Bradford like we had done the season before and that was Wilson's last game.

The 8 league defeats in a row ,3 embarrassing defeats against lower league opposition and the Peterborough thrashing made my mind up.

We were certainly having a poor time when we sacked Danny, but the club itself was also in chaos. At the time he went I'm not sure Danny would've been all that keen on staying. It hardly seemed like a happy place. But as I've said before, starting from scratch without any financial backing doomed Caldwell with or without his daft ideas.

I do think holding two meaningless defeats in a silly competition against lower league teams when we played very weakened sides against Danny is a bit rich. But getting blown away in the cup, even against a lower-league team in the midst of its best spell of form ever was pretty difficult to swallow.

But would we have happily swallowed it if we'd known what Chef Caldwell wanted to line up for us as Dessert? I would!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing Dev.
We were right to get rid of Wilson and as we speak the large lady is clearing her throat on Caldwell. He sounded a broken man tonight but was blaming the players as well when he himself picked the team ,thats an admission he got it wrong .
