Match Thread - SWFC v Bolton
Good win even though not a good performance. When we scored the first we were totally in control and I couldn't have seen that Bolton would cause us as many problems as they did after that. Madine was almost unplayable, he either won the ball in the air or drew the foul. He even used the ball well and Wellington-Silva was a constant threat, particularly in the 2nd half. Definitely missed Hutchinson's physical presence in midfield and we were chasing shadows for long periods. Nuhiu was largely ineffective in the air but held off a couple of players near the halfway line to get the ball out to the other wing for Pudil to bomb on and cross for Hooper's first.

Thought it was going to be one of those nights for Hooper after the first couple of chances he missed but he kept going, got his scrappy first and then scored a 'Bergkamp' of a goal as he dragged it past Wheater? with one touch and smashed it past the keeper with the next. Hopefully he'll sign and we can get the best out of him for the rest of the season.

Said to my brother as we left, how many times in the last few years have we seen a struggling Wednesday side perform really well against teams higher in the league only to lose because of a flash of genius by the opponents. Well, we had a couple of genius moments, by Forestieri and Hooper, and it won us the game. Nice to be on the other side of that scenario at last.

Just watched the highlights. Nuhiu has a key part in the first two goals. A lovely flick in the build up to the opener and his hold up play and ball out wide to Pudil for the second is absolutely superb.

Did you not go consilio Huh  you will wear that armchair out you know  Whistle agreed with what i saw of the highlights although i do realise it means shit to actually been sat there in the freezing cold and watching 90 minutes of football when sometimes you see more things going off when players arnt in the picture frame  Thumb up

Anyway Nuhui played well Thumb up  but like Ms he never looks like a threat infront of goal  Sad And ive a big disagreement about Wildsmith who i think is very good  Thumb up but hes not westwoods very very good  Thumb up and westwood would have saved that second goal on a good westwood day  Thumb up although he hasnt had many this season  Huh but i still think we are leaking to many goals because Westwood isnt there  Thumb up and the sooner we get lees back the better cos jesus we look as soft as shite  Doh and as for hunt i prefer him to palmer because he looks more alive when attacking and thats part of the CC game  Thumb up

Got to get this hooper till the end of the season  Thumb up but Norwich will be bumming our chairman as we speak  Doh

I was there Imre but always watch the highlights.

Fully agree about Westwood.

Covering the defence seems to be a big problem for us. We don't get back enough to provide cover and it's really the only time teams break us down easily.

If we can nip that behaviour in the bud there's no reason why we can't be Middlesboro next season.

Fessi's goal is another cracker isn't it? that's a few from 30yrds we've scored this season. It's nice to see us be a real threat in the opposition final third as opposed to the constant breakdown and sloppy movement we have endured in recent years.

Nuhiu has his purpose there's no doubt, it's nice to see the best being brought out in him. it's just a shame for him that at the end of the day his best won't be enough as the club moves forward. Bit part squad player perhaps but not much first team action really.

This is true but we pretty much played without a right winger as Wallace played more centrally. While he was left exposed, he did flounder terribly.
