I don't know if Lee McCulloch would be more effective up front than Kris Boyd ... who certainly has not had the rub of the green, or John Daly.
Whoever is leading the line, it is service that is critical.
Lee Wallace has impressed me with his wing-play, so he and Shane Ferguson cover the left side of the pitch.
Do similar on the right wing and complete the front with midfielders coming in unmarked and I think the forwards will get the supply they need.
The supporting players, wings and midfield, will chip in too.
The players are there and have the ability, so we should not be downbeat about our chances of overtaking the Edinburgh duo, although the top spot is, of course, for Hearts to lose.

This match reminded me of the first game of the season - dismal smash and grab by visitors who made very little, but made a whole lot of that little.

Can't really fault any particular player. I think we improved after Kenny went off, but lost focus going forward when Vuckic was (inexplicably) withdrawn - I would have thought that hooking Murdoch for Shiels when chasing the game would have made more sense.

I can't remember the last time we went into a game and I was confident of a positive result.

I'm liking the movement and options that Vuckic brings to the team. Always giving the midfield an option to play in to feet. That's something that's been missing for ages, possibly because of the deliberate use of the long ball to Daly all the time instead. Thought Murdoch did well, and Hutton too. Less so Zaliukas, McGregor, Boyd and Miller. Faure, Wallace, Law and Robinson all did OK I suppose.

Just waiting for all the other Newcastle boys to become fit and we'll see what they can bring to the side. With Miller out for a while possibly, it remains to be seen who gets the nod to replace him. No, wait, that's bollocks. It'll be Daly. Doh

Trus think yer being harsh on Miller, he was doing well bfore the injury, shot cleared off the line brought a good save out of Oxley another day and they go in,Gers played well Friday and created plenty and were unlucky to lose, but th defnding wasn't great again.

Zaliukas was brought back sooner than we would have liked so I'm not surprised he looked rusty, and Faure hasn't played much this season either. But I still think the weak link in the match was McGregor unfortunately.
