Cyrille Regis takes the match ball with a hat-trick, Albion vs Swansea, 5th September 1981

We kick off our February fixtures on Tuesday night with the visit of Swansea, in a week which will be crucial for our slow march to survival.  Having wasted the chance for three points against Villa, we could still redeem ourselves and be effectively safe on 34 points by next weekend; or, of course, we could surrender once more and allow ourselves to be dragged back into the dogfight.  It doesn't bode well that Swansea are well-rested following their ignominious third round cup exit, and managed to get the better of us in South Wales at Christmas despite the worst showing they've put in against us in years.  For Albion, it feels like the matches are coming a lot faster than we can deliver the performances, and that shows no signs of ending any time soon.

A draw would suit us more than Swansea, but with another tough set of fixtures on the way after Newcastle at the weekend, we could do with the full three in the bank.  Time to roll those sleeves up again, Albion.

It's thin-ice season for Albion now. We simply must avoid defeats.

Might there be an outside chance we return to the form we displayed against Newcastle, Stoke and Chelsea ? Without any creative 'mids'  bar Sess, I doubt if we can.

If this new bloke, Alex Thingymebob signs on loan today might he be eligible? That said, he'll probably end up a bench warmer as Pulis doesn't really care for flair.

Alex Pritchard - signed and in the squad for Swansea. Also Sandro.

"In the squad".
Same as Gnabry: same ability, same neck-of-the-wood, same height, probably wear the same tracksuit.

My first match down the shrine this season with kids and work and all that, having read the previous threads re the team/style/atmosphere-lack of! Should I hand my ticket back? I think this match is a must not lose more than anything for confidence. On a sidenote, my old man made me chuckle in regard to this Alex Pritchard fella, he said he's got blonde hair! no footballer with blonde hair makes it as a footballer let the Albion Laugh . Anyway 3 points would be nice with the toon on the horizon! Goodbye Saido its been emotional Angry .

Forever young,
As a fellow Baggie you know that when you turn up at the shrine to watch us play a team that we should spank out of sight we will almost definitely struggle !
But, when you trudge up to the turnstiles with a heavy heart and full expectations that we will be given a good pasting by one of the big boys, we only go and bloody win !
This has nothing to do with the current players or TP it is just the life of a West Brom fan.
Keep the faith buddy.

Thumb up

C O Y B

Ps. I agree with your dad, blonde haired Albion greats are in short supply ! Was thinking Derek Statham but not really blonde.
