RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - Amelia Chaffinch - 02-04-2020 ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - jjamez - 02-04-2020 I'm feeling fine, loss of appetite and boredom mainly RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - Lord Snooty - 02-04-2020 So Town management have taken a wage deferral and the non playing staff have been furloughed. RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - ritchiebaby - 02-04-2020 I'm feeling fine too and life is almost normal for me, apart from holidays and concerts being cancelled. Being a pensioner, my income is not affected, I don't have a mortgage and we only need to shop once a week or 10 days anyway. So far I've pottered away in the garden at my leisure and been on here more. And yes, I know exactly how lucky I am. My wife and I are still being civil to one another, so that's a bonus. Stay safe, everyone. RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - Lord Snooty - 02-04-2020 Did the Curling season get finished, Ritchie? Or do you have a big match or two to finish off in the summer? RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - ritchiebaby - 02-04-2020 The season was ended on the Tuesday immediately after the "lockdown", but as it was due to finish on the Saturday anyway, it didn't make a big difference. My club has 1 competition to complete and we'll use the first session in October to do that, all being well of course. RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - WakeyTerrier - 07-04-2020 finally got furloughed this morning. So that’s me sat at home until further notice RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - theo_luddite - 04-05-2020 Sooooo, Brighton's Chairlump thinks playing out the season on neutral grounds, whatever that means, would affect the integrity of the league. Removing the threat of relegation is fine and dandy however. That wouldn't affect anything at all would it? I mean, bottom half clubs really don't need to bother turning up, whether at home or on a neutral ground? Might as well play their U-11 Academy sides. What could possibly go wrong? Not really thought that one through has he? RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - jjamez - 04-05-2020 He's got a point about the integrity of the league though. Would we have won against man ure or Watford without the fans giving that extra push or in those tight games during the promotion season? To me playing at neutral venues without fans is akin to playing a friendly, behind closed doors, it loses the passion and meaning and becomes just a glorified kick around, even if something is riding on it. For me you need fans, what the fans feel transmits onto the pitch, both good and bad. For me, I'm inclined to go with the teams at the top are awarded the titles and promotion, with no relegation. Next season have more teams going down to make up for it. The Premier league would go to 22 teams, big deal, there's an extra couple of midweek games, make Newcastle travel to Bournemouth on a Tuesday night like normal. Can always alter or move the league and fa Cup to help out with logistics. RE: HTFC and the Corona Virus - Lord Snooty - 04-05-2020 Don't worry about having no fans in. They're gonna fly the entire Premier League out to Australia to finish the season off. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
