The friendly between Salford City and United of Manchester sounded like a Chesterfield game. Diesrevwue scored after nine minutes. Allinson was in goal and Jake Beesley had a late effort on goal.
Armand scored for Blackpool.
And Donal McDoughnut has gone to Swindon. He'll be on drugs in a month. Everyone there's either on drugs, or driving round a roundabout.
Kevan Hurst is on trial at Guiseley for gawd's sake. He's only 31. Am I the only one (as they say) who thinks he'd get in our team?

Kevan Hurst would be a good addition in midfield. He was Southend's key player till they released him in 2016 and he could do a job for us. I remember he ran the Manchester City defence ragged in the Carling Cup back in 2006 when he was on loan to us from Sheffield United.

BAD NEWS ON SAM:
Newcastle’s slow movement in the transfer window looks to have cost them another target, as Hull’s Leonid Slutsky ruled out more departures from the KCOM Stadium, in comments appearing in the Hull Daily Mail.
The Magpies had been linked with a £10m move for Sam Clucas by Chronicle Live this summer, but Slutsky has insisted no more players will be sold by the Tigers.
