Portsmouth should have waited till after the season was over because they have nothing left to play for but we've got a real chance of making the playoff final and possibly getting promotion to the Championship. Sounds to me like there is more to this than meets the eye. RE: What can we read into this ? - spireitematt - 24-04-2015 Skybet have got Paul Cook down as 3/1 on as the next manager of Portsmouth, either Skybet are toying with people or somebody somewhere knows something. RE: What can we read into this ? - bluepooch - 26-04-2015 1/5 with VC .Speaks volumes I'm afraid and casts a shadow over the whole play off situation for me . RE: What can we read into this ? - spireitematt - 26-04-2015 Portsmouth fans hope we lose in the playoffs so that they can get Cook before the end of May. Portsmouth made the approach to Cook on Thursday hoping that they could speak face to face to him yesterday after their game at Mansfield. How ******* cheeky can you get. RE: What can we read into this ? - bluepooch - 28-04-2015 I see the price has lengthened to 5/6.sounds like a weak market so maybe we shouldn't read too much into it. RE: What can we read into this ? - Dancingwilldoit - 28-04-2015 Allen now favorite. Cue all the moaning about Cook being a disloyal so and so. Allen is out of contract at Barnet and I reckon he will probably stay at Barnet instead of jumping ship. I reckon Fergie will be manager of Portsmouth because he has contacts at Peterborough and Manchester United and will be able to loan players. RE: What can we read into this ? - spireitematt - 29-04-2015 Looks like Martin Allen could be the new manager of Portsmouth with Waddock as his assistant. RE: What can we read into this ? - bluepooch - 29-04-2015 Where've you seen this Matt .Cookie is back to 1/4 with Allen not in betting .Hope youre right . I read that whoever goes to Portsmouth has to use the staff already there so if Cook went there he wouldn't be allowed to take anyone with him because Portsmouth wouldn't be able to afford it. Allen has managed Barnet 4 times and doesn't stay at clubs very long and I think if he takes the Portsmouth job and its not going well for him he'll probably leave. Just had a look at the odds again and Allen was favourite earlier at 4/7 and now they've changed again and Cook is favourite at 2/7. |
