RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Rotherham - A57owl - 05-03-2016 Well... we have managed to piss away a four point safety cushion whilst we were sat in 5th. Now we will be lucky to hold onto 6th. Four poor games, results and some dodgy decisions have cost us dearly recently. We have lost our momentum which sadly Cardiff and a few others seem to have at the moment. Why oh why do we do it? Wednesday always seem to let us down just as things seemed on the up. I had a bad feeling about today's game. With 'Colin' in charge, we knew Rotherham would be up for it and come out fighting. We started badly. I don't think Carlos got it right today. We needed to start quick, hard and decisively. Instead we let them out battle and play us in the first half. A promising season is in danger of fizzling out. Carlos and the team need to get back to winning ways a.s.a.p. Oh great.... Brighton next!!! RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Rotherham - St Charles Owl - 05-03-2016 While we have taken step back and after opening up a decent gap we have now seen it disappear, we are still in that 6th spot and our destiny is still in our own hands more or less. Tuesday won't make or break the season, but three points have not been more desperately needed than now this season!! All four of the teams chasing 6th, and Derby in 5th have shown that thy can win games but have all shown inconsistency, one team will put a run together during the run in and that may just make the difference. RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Rotherham - Imre varadi - 05-03-2016 no tuesday wont but tuesaday and saturday will !! Not really, Cardiff play Ipswich next Saturday, so that will keep on or both down and Brum are away at Wolves on Sunday in their main derby game. This one will go to the last couple of games. I would also add that whichever team wins the 6th spot they will have had to really fight for it and the elation of getting in May just carry them to the Prem. On the other hand the teams that finish 4th and 5th are likely to miss out on the top two by a small margin and may well be despondent at missing out, causing them to dip. It's happened before so it can't be ruled out. Of course Derby may end up being the freshest if they are safe in 5th and that old help them as well!! RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Rotherham - Owlkev71 - 05-03-2016 Poor first half, didn't seem up for it unlike Rotherham; deserves the lead they had and had a couple of chances too. Don't know about the first disallowed goal, the consensus was for offside even though the linesman never raised his flag from what I saw. The 2nd half was basically one way traffic as we went 3 up top. Wallace hut the bar and there keeper made several saves. The 2nd disallowed goal seemed a poor decision, Joaos long range effort was bobbled by the keeper, Hooper controlled and slotted home looked onside to me but we will see what the tv replays show. Thought we deserved a point as Rotherham just sat back in the 2nd and didn't have a shot that I can recall The formation and attitude didn't help in the first halfMcgeady and Turner were especially poor. They showed multiple replays on the live stream and both decisions seemed to be right, although neither camera angle was perfect to be definitive. For the first the linesman didn't raise his flag but from his angle Turner looked as though he wasn't interfering with play which is why I think the ref went over to talk to him. I imagine once the linesman was told about the deflection off Turner then he was deemed offside. While it's annoying, and sums up our luck at the moment, it was actually probably a good piece of officiating. RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Rotherham - Statesideowl - 05-03-2016 It's hard to stay positive when we had a 5pt cushion and we're now at risk of not even being 6th when all teams are level on games played. Today was awful to watch, after the occasional nice build up play we'd waste every cross or pass. Not enough players showed up, Mcgugans attitude was shocking after coming on. Aside from poor decisions which have had a knock on effect. I have seen over the last month the fatigue in the squad. We just don't have enough steam or strength in depth to keep it going. |
