Sad news. I hope DW does well somewhere else and that you get a cracking replacement. Would love to see you stay up.

Now if Arsenil Wenger was to throw his cap in the ring for the equivalent (for him) of beer money!!!. Whistle
We'd still go down but next season would be fun.

Half sad and half relieved to see Wagner go. He should be treated as an Honorary Terrier, such was his love for the club, but as an earlier post said, this is a results based business and he wasn't getting results. Overall he's done Town proud, but we were losing ground.

There will be nobody better available to come in but even a small change in style just might change Town's fortunes. The next couple of weeks will be interesting on the transfer front.

RE: David Wagner gone - WakeyTerrier - 15-01-2019

I will always be grateful for what he achieved with us. I never thought we'd play in the Premier Leaguer but we did, I never thought i'd see us win in the PL but we did, I never thought we'd beat Man Utd, draw away at Chelsea and Man City...but we did.
so the best of luck with whatever he goes on to do next.

However, its been obvious for a while that things weren't just working this season.
Some of his tactics were questionable at times
Some of his team selections have been baffling.
Some of his transfers have been questionable this season.

Did I think we'd part ways this season, not really.
Do I think its 2/3 months too late, yes.

Who would want the job right now....no big name would be my guess. Big Sam would've kept us up had he come in October but now I don't think he'd touch us.
Probably best just to appoint Hudson/Whitehead for the next month or so or failing that go for Jockanovic or Karanka

Totally floored me when I heard Wagner had gone. Was certain he would stay and try get us back from the Championship next year.
He is and always will be a legend for Town. The way he fitted in with the club and the community was testament to the man. An all round thoroughly decent chap. Even more so when he said that he would stay to the end of the season if that was best for the club.
I hope Deano gives him compensation for all he's done, rather than both just walk their separate ways.

Who next? I don't think many managers would touch us with a barge pole just now. We are dead man walking. I think if Hudson does a half decent job he will do it until the end of the season.
Then Jokanovic or a proven Championship manager that plays footy the right way (not Colin). Shame Chris Houghton isn't available. Or Eddie Howe.
So would we go down the Wagner route again...ie a non proven virtual unknown? I doubt it. That was a risk that worked beautifully 3.5 years ago, but we don't need to do that now. We can attract bigger fish, even with relegation.
I watched that documentary on Netflix, Sunderland til I die.....and I have to say Chris Coleman came across really well, even though they did eventually go down. I'd have a punt on him.

Claude Puel will be available soon. He's the next one the media are desperate to get sacked. Would you have him?

Sky Sports now saying we have announced that the new manager will be unveiled after the City game on Sunday.
Good luck with keeping that under wraps til then.

On another note..is it possible to recall VLP and Sohbi back to the club?

Strange that Sohbi left on loan saying he'll be back next season and in the meantime DW has clearly been in talks with DH for some time about his position at the club stating he would stay until the end of the season....coincidence?

RE: David Wagner gone - hibeejim21 - 15-01-2019

I'm surprised by this news ? I thought he would definitely stick around and try and keep the club up.

Moyes ?
