Sterling can become a star at City for the next ten years, so at just 5m a year its value for money as long as they win things with him. Still remains to be seen if Bale provides that value at Real, but I doubt it. RM have always paid silly money for the best players, such as Ronaldo when they bought him, but if they win the CL a few times they will consider it worth it. Andy Carroll was a disaster of a signing, full stop!!! There is a wage cap on how much you can pay a player in the football league though because Notts County got into trouble about 6 years ago when they paid Schmeichel something like £15,000 - £20,000 for playing L2. RE: Raheem Sterling - Amelia Chaffinch - 12-07-2015 If FFP was enforced against all clubs it would make it fairer but they don't. The little clubs can go to hell and the big clubs will do what they want. Andy Carroll was a disaster of a signing, full stop!!! I wasn't aware of that, never seen anything about it. Of course that is a truly stupid decision by them anyway!! He would struggle to hold a place in a Championship team. Can't see what City see in him. Not really a salary cap as such though as its all dependent on turnover so it is favorable for the bigger clubs such as Portsmouth who have bigger turnovers. But it is better than nothing. RE: Raheem Sterling - themaclad - 13-07-2015 A fool and his money are easily parted £49 million really is taking the piss, he's not worth half of that bet his agent is happy though, kerching |
