I wouldn't lay too much blame at McDowall's feet. He clearly isn't capable of the job and he is well aware of it. He was given the task out of desperation rather than asking for it.
Edit: Still no official confirmation from the club. BBC et al are going to look pretty f*cking daft if they've got this wrong.

Not so much blame, just not conjucive to constantly talk the side down, (we all know they are poor at the moment) try and be a little positive at least. Maybe the bored stalker has been plaguing him too.
