BBC (spit) reporting that McCall has been appointed manager until the end of the season. Good move or bad?

Personally I'm not sure he's the man long-term, but I'm confident that in the short term he'll instil a style of play that works, and will give confidence to a squad utterly bereft of such qualities. I can see Templeton gettinga chance in SM's preferred 4-4-2 formation too.

Hopefully no too little too late.

I think it;'s a good move for both club and man - they can negotiate a future deal if and when he shows his worth. And if he can get this lot moving in the right direction he will have shown his worth.

Yep, agreed. A good move and a necessary one.

It'll be better having an actual manager in place (albeit it one who was having a pretty horrible season at Motherwell before he left) than McDowell who seems to lack the tactical nous to change things in a game or out-think the opposition. I'm happy to have McCall in but just hope it doesn't mean the young guys like Walsh and Murdoch get set back while he gives older players a chance to redeem themselves. I don't think the board should be dictating who gets in, but it would be best if everyone had some idea right now of who's going to be moved out in the summer and the new manager can then be aware of who's likely to have a future at Rangers.

Was he prone to avoid youth at Motherwell?

I just remember he had a few seasons making good use of poor tools - so well suited to the Ibrox job.

Don't think there'll be anything official until he accepts an offer IF he does so at all. Stock market would need to be informed too regardless of whether our shares are trading, though I'm never really sure where the line gets drawn on things that are already fully in the public domain.

We'll have to accept him working with Scotland during his tenure.

Don't see why not - it's the only reason he's immediately available.

Don't think it can be any worse than what has been seen over the past few weeks. McDowell obviously doen't want to be there, his heart is not in it and that has to transfer the the team but McCall will at least be able to bring some fresh ideas and some different tactics, time will tell whether it will work!!

Just glad to not have Kenny mac anywhere near the side anymore. His negativity was draining to say the least.
