RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - Lord Snooty - 24-02-2015 Email from Town says the Royals are in town tonight. I thought they meant Princess Anne was extending her visit to the area to take in the match, but no. Apparently the Biscuitmen are now called the Royals. They're always gonna be the Biscuits to me. RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - theo_luddite - 24-02-2015 Been busy - we are already 1-0 up by the time I'm posting this. Good call on Coady - not even on the bench, but apparently ill. Always known them s the Royals Snoots, but isn't there a link between both names as in Royal Biscuits or something to that effect? Just answered my own question through the dubious Wiki pages. Reading are nicknamed The Royals, due to Reading's location in the Royal County of Berkshire, though they were previously known as The Biscuitmen, due to the town's association with Huntley and Palmers. RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - Amelia Chaffinch - 24-02-2015 Wells made it 2-0. Subbed by Vaughan soon after. Wells appeared to be holding his hamstring beforehand. He had taken a knock when he clashed with their goalkeeper just before half-time. In fact we were surprised to see him come back out. Miller 3-0 Miller subbed by Lolley RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - Denners - 24-02-2015 We're never getting relegated now. 10 points clear of the drop and Millwall et al aren't going to close the gap assuming we take another 10 points from the remaining games. As oggy said prior to Cardiff, exciting football required between now and the season end to entice people back next season. Up the Town!! RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - SHEP_HTAFC - 24-02-2015 Cracking win that for Town. All those near or below us seems to have drawn/lost. This puts us into the top half.....42 points and 11 clear of the drop. Above Dirty L666s also. Looking forward to hearing from the guys who went tonight. Was it as one way as the radio bods were saying? RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - Amelia Chaffinch - 25-02-2015 We were better than them but that's not to say that Smithies had nothing to do. Can't fault him. RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - theo_luddite - 25-02-2015 Excellent 3 points, sets us up nicely for the double header in that there Larndan Tarn and more important, puts us in the top half for the first time this season. RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - sloppyattheback - 25-02-2015 Smithies made 2 smart early saves one from the bullet header that was top drawer, we didnt seem to miss Coady and with Bunn behind the 2 he set the tone with his pace and willingness to close down. Wells hit the post on 45 mins after Bunn disposed their defender - he was my MOM. Butterfield and Hogg played really well together, perhaps we should start with this similar line up at Charlaton and have Scanz, JV or Wells and Coady, Lolley all warming the bench, competition is healthy. The defence looked organised, Robinson tested with good wingers and a slick passing midfield but we shackled them up front and the pressing knocked them out of their stride, goals at the right moments took us away, sitting pretty in 12th. Think the actual crowd would have been somewhere under 8000 187 Burks only yet better atmosphere than Saturday, the crowd responding to high pressing and a good tempo, which MUST be our minimum. Really enjoyed the evening, thou i was only 1 of 7 in our little group that went for various reasons all ST holders - incredible. RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - SHEP_HTAFC - 25-02-2015 Crowd was announced as 10,282.....but that was tickets sold not actual attendance. RE: Huddersfield Town vs Reading FC - Terrier1987cas - 25-02-2015 We were decent, not great, they were bloody awful. Certainly wasn't as good a performance as when we went down to their place. Hogg was my MOTM, set the tempo from the off. Butterfield and Bunn also good and both looked to move forward with the ball whenever they got it which was a nice change. Smithies played well when called upon, defence ropey when tested but rarely tested - can't complain with 2 clean sheets in a row to be fair. Miller and Wells in particular were garbage despite their goals, looked a much better team with JV back up top. Great win, on to Charlton where we should take a decent following. |
