own come into this game having a mixed run of form a battling draw against then table toppers Bournemouth was followed by a performance which lacked any kind of spark or impetus in a 0-0 bore draw vs Cardiff. that being said Town have lost just 3 of their last 10 league games and only lost 1 this month. recent results show the jackel and hyde nature of the team, performances the likes of Bournemouth and Watford and equaled by performances the likes of birmingham and Reading in the FA cup. the other loss which took place during our last 10 league game period.
the team have struggled for consistency as have many other teams, but it is even more frustrating when good wins and performances seem to come against better clubs but against lower placed clubs the team seems to struggle.
The squad is undoubtedly talented with a good core of young players but fans just dont know which huddersfield town are going to show up at any given time and frustration is setting in, demands for entertainment from the stands seem to be falling on deaf ears with the management team at times settling for a point rather than going for the win. a football managers job is always on the line so a balance must be had, throw caution to the wind and possibly lose all points , or with 15 minutes to go settle to put some points on the board.
Its a tough decision to make and one that makes or breaks careers. but this is not a sport any more, it is not merely for entertainment , Football is now a business where promotion and relegation could see clubs destroyed and financial mis-management will almost certainly so.
RIP Parma FC.

Reading sit 3 places above huddersfield in the table but only 1 point ahead, there last 10 league games have been exactly the same reagrding results as towns have 3 losses 4 wins and 2 draws. mixed into that though have been 3 fa cup wins ( including the one against town) and they have another FA cup tie against our neighbors Bradford in just a week and a half, they have shown an equally Jackel and Hyde record , with wins against playoff contenders Ipswich and Norwich with losses against relegation threatened Fulham and Wigan
The games would seem evenly matched, but then again it will all depended on which teams show up

Played for Both

the first obvious choice is Town will be "welcoming" back oliver Norwood, who moved the Reading this season, although his start was a bright one, recently he has been accused by Reading fans of going missing during games.

Second obvious choice would be Sean Morrison , part of the promotion winning team that put us in the championship was on loan to us from reading, he moved to Cardiff this season and was welcomed back to the stadium just a few days ago

Steve Francis, goal keeper who made almost 200 appearances for Town between 93 an 99 was signed from Reading , he played over 200 games for them

feel free to let me know any more

Team

With Lynch still out i cant see the back 4 changing and i think we need to bring Bunn back into the team and have Butterfield a central role, to me that means dropping either Coady or Hogg, i hate to do it, Coady is the future but Hogg is the present

Don't think it's a matter of which Town team turn up, MNT. I think it's more relevant what opposition turn up.
Wolves came to play football and we had an open entertaining match in which we could have won but ended up losing 4-1. Cardiff came for a point and the match wasn't as open.
When Reading came here in the cup they came on a smash and grab raid. Now that was a poor match. I expect the same tomorrow. What we need to do is score early .

Parma FC who have been a mainstay or Serie A for decades have been dissolved and declared bankrupt , automatically relegated and had to postpone their last game because they couldnt pay ground staff to attend the game

apparently they club has debts upwards of 190 million euros

an example of how financial mis management can do to even a big european club

Ah yes Snoots, Craig Maskell.
One of my all time favourite Town players, even though he only played 1 season for us.

We must try get an early goal tonight. It's the only way to liven up a potentially dull game. Reading are going to do nothing but try for the draw in this game. We know it, they know it, Powell knows it.

It's simple really, they have to work harder than they did against Cardiff and Wolves. Neither of those games did we ever look like winning, the players have to pass and move not just stand about expecting Butterfield or Scannell to do everything for them.

Going by Powells comments we might see something a little different tonight so here is my guess at the line up.

Smithies
Smith,Hudson,Wallace
Scannell,Edgar,Hogg,Robinson
Bunn
Miller,Vaughan

Canalside obviously thing going to the Town match is a waste of time tonight

We desperately need more players to be attempting creative movements either with passes, shots or runs. At the moment we have butterfield pulling every string and scannell our only real outlet. That needs to change otherwise teams will just figure us out. Double up on scanz and butts and they stop us in the final third. Powell needs to be more flexible with team selection or tactics to arrest this trend. Reading have a decent midfield but apart from that I don't think they are much kop at all. Wallace bullied pogrebnyak last time I watched them and if we can get at them from the off and be positive, I'm confident we can get all three points.

The daft thing is that if they've doubled up on Scanz and Butterfield then surely it's not hard for the others to work out they have space to run into.

I'd really like us to try and win tonight, even if we end up losing, I want to see us believe we're good enough to beat a team like bloody Reading, who we already beat quite comfortably at their place. Bunn was a revelation that night and has to start for me.
