RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - jjamez - 02-06-2022 Would be riis jakobsen for me Theo from pne. Fairly young, had a good season, quick, tall, but there is a question over whether it's a one season wonder or not RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - theo_luddite - 02-06-2022 Well, it's a PNE connection, but to a large extent Hugill did just that over the last few years. One season full of goals, gets a big transfer and just about hits the cows arse with a banjo these days. Are we concerned that one of our recruitment team has rocked up at Swansea? If the "whole process" is in place, it shouldn't make much difference, but my long years in industry tell me that about every 5-10 years or so a "team" comes together that really drives the business forward in a big way, then a few team members leave get moved into another department or retire and the momentum is lost for a while, even though "the process" is supposedly in place. It's how the newbies implement it. The new guys/gals take a while to get up to speed and do they ever implement it in the same way? In the case of Town this isn't just players on the pitch, though they are the most obvious team to most, it's who put that team together and how they are coached. The best coach in the world won't ever take Halifax Town (or us) to any of the European Finals without all the other parts of the jigsaw puzzle being in place. What I'm getting at here is that whilst Bromby was getting all the plaudits, Marsh's job title was Head of Recruitment. When was he ever mentioned or acknowledged or given an inkling that a promotion/pay rise was maybe on the horizon? Looks like he's found one at Swansea. Your most valuable assets on the pitch might be earning £500,000 a year, but some of the clubs really most valuable assets, long term, might be earning around 5-10% of that and should also have a clear career path and rewards for a job well done. RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - Lord Snooty - 02-06-2022 Kian Harratt gone to Bradford City for the season. https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/20183310.huddersfield-striker-harratt-joins-bradford-city-loan/ RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - theo_luddite - 02-06-2022 He was at Port Vale who just got promoted, he scored to help them get promoted and that's a move forward in his development? Hell, what does the naughty step look like? RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - Amelia Chaffinch - 02-06-2022 That's very much what I said. Not just another league 2 side either but Bradford! RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - Devongone - 03-06-2022 I've always thought Blackman was a good keeper. If you got an offer you couldn't refuse for Nicholls you'd do well to sign someone better than Blackman within your usual budget (nothing or its next door neighbour). If he wants to drop down to non-league ........ well he'd be the best in the National League, but my team would be too stupid to sign him. As for Sarr being released, it proves mere supporters can never understand managers. Our manager at Chesterfield released a player who was in the running for player of the season, yours has let the man go for whom he made a major change to his team for the Play-Off Final. Managers are on a different wavelength. Tell jjamez to keep them maulers off Tshimanga. As for Kyle Hudlin at Solihull. He's 6'9". That's really all there is to say about Kyle Hudlin. RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - Amelia Chaffinch - 03-06-2022 I'd have kept Blackman. And Sarr. Not sure about Eiting... historically, yes, but not really tested this time. RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - Lord Snooty - 03-06-2022 Blackman has been let go because........... Smithies's coming home. ![]() RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - Amelia Chaffinch - 03-06-2022 Don't want Smithies back. RE: HTAFC Summer Transfer Window 2022 - theo_luddite - 03-06-2022 He was the top earner at Cardiff, they let him go because they couldn't afford his wages. He'd have to drop his wage demands considerably to sit on our bench. |
