As a neutral, i have to say i quite enjoyed that game.

Another incredibly poor performance, saved by a dodgy penalty.

I'd be inclined to start playing Semi Ajayi in midfield as he was the only player who made any forward runs and got to the byline to cross for Carroll's goal. Only time a decent cross was hung up all game.

Every other cross was food and drink for the defenders as they were coming from too deep. Our wing backs don't have the ability to get forward.

Far too many players just hanging back to provide back and square options. We look completely clueless progressing the ball forward.

I'm not sure where we go from here as there's a real dearth of talent in our squad. Bruce has no idea on his best XI, formation or anything. Even the goalkeeper has started having a mare.

The only positive was the 10 minute spell after the penalty when for the first time in months, we seemed to show some belief. Despite that, Huddersfield still would've won in added time if it wasn't for Carroll's excellent goal line clearance. Big rebuild job needed in the summer and I'm not convinced we have the right people at the club for it.

Slick, I think you’re right, there is a huge rebuilding required as this squad is not good enough to get out of this division, let alone survive in the Premier League. The trouble is that I feel a rebuilding will take a couple of years at least and I’m not sure the fans have that level of patience; there seems to be a demand for instant success and an immediate return to the EPL. The foundations of the club seem very weak; we seem to be prepared to lose high potential young players while signing average journeymen (eg Reyes Cleary and Jason Molumby & Adam Reach). As long as we are prepared to continue down that road I honestly think we’ll stagnate. We don’t have the financial clout to sign really game-changing players and we don’t seem to value our young players enough to take a genuine chance with them. As a result we’ll sign more like Reach and Mulumby. Having Bruce in charge will, in my opinion, only reinforce that approach

Slick and Baggiesteve you are both spot on.
It was another awful performance up to the last 10 minutes when we most definitely got a bit of help from the referee.
I'm not at all convinced by Bruce and really dont believe he is the right man for the job. It's not entirely down to him, the club hierarchy are dreadful and the majority of players are just not performing, which makes Bruce's decisions on leaving out TGH (until recently), and Carroll who has worked tirelessly at both ends of the pitch quite baffling.

Sounds like we're asking all the questions v Fulham, just coming up to h/t.
How's it looking? Anybody there?

Well happy with that first half, apart from no goal. Only criticism would be of the ref missed a stone wall penalty, top tier referee my ****, must be getting lazy, spoilt by VAR.

Where the hell has this team been for the last 4 months!!
Ok still not taking our chances but at least taking the game to Fulham and putting in a shift.

Oh, and referee is s#$t.

Well this is much better. I just said before kick off, if you can play for the 90 minutes like you did for 5 minutes against us, you'll win.

The first 45 has been such. No goals yet though, although you should've had a penalty. Stonewall!

Makes up for that one on Friday?

RE: WBA vs Huddersfield & Fulham - drewks - 16-03-2022

Well, a 'deserved win against the runaway league leaders' according to the BBC.
Maybe a bit late, but equally maybe the start of something?

Best I have felt after a game this year, great performance for the whole 90 minutes, you could see the confidence flooding back the more the game went on and lets not forget they are top of the league.
