RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - drewks - 28-02-2022 This situation is now beyond crap. Unbelievable, how we've gone from being Top 2 to potential relegation candidates in so short a time. WE are literally a joke. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Baggie_One - 28-02-2022 I do hope there is some sky sports breaking news Stick mozza and brunt in charge RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Baggiebob(BBB) - 01-03-2022 The stupidest comment tonight was when a reporter said 'West Brom have four minutes to get back in this game' and that was when 4 minutes of added time was announced and we were 2-0 down. What !! Fat chance of that ever happening over another 90 minutes. Most of this team should be sacked immediately and bring in the 2nd team - they would at least play with some aggressiveness as this team knowing it was a MUST win game gave nothing aside from Robinson' twice hitting the woodwork. Oh, and Swansea had gone over 7hrs without scoring a goal, then 2 in 5 minutes. The team was set up wrong, the players looked lethargic with no skills, so it was no wonder we supporters were yelling 'they are not fit to wear the shirt.' That's it lads, championship def for next season, and maybe more. How have we gone from a mid table reasonably established eight season premier league team to a Sunday league pub side? Poor club management and the appointment of Tony Pulis, from there it has only gone one way, with the football becoming more dire year on year. We should have gone to Beijing, the speed we have gone downhill, we'd have been gold medal certainties. I was there thorough the dark times of the nineties, but there was hope of getting back up with a more level playing field, now I am to old to fight and hope for a return to the days when we were competitive and had a slim chance of glory. I can not see me returning to football generally, let alone returning to the shrine. I will always be a baggie but football has become a drag .... Boring and repetitive. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - baggietrousers - 01-03-2022 Any manager who thinks Adam Reach should be selected over TGH deserves to be sacked with immediate effect. Not saying TGH is the answer, but Reach is absolute s#$t. I didn't actually watch tonight. I really couldn't be arsed when I saw the team sheet. Looks like I made the right call. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Slick_Footwork - 01-03-2022 I said it couldn't get any worse than under Ismael, I was wrong. At the end of Ismael's time, the football was absolute dross and we never looked like scoring a goal. But we occasionally kept a clean sheet at least. Under Bruce, we're equally bad going forward. There is no pattern of play, no energy. We don't commit any men forward. Yet, we look like we're going to concede every time the opposition come at us. None of the midfield get up there with the forwards, yet none have any defensive awareness either. How do players who excel in absolutely nothing become professional? And how have we managed to accumulate so many no hopers? We gave away academy grads like Field bring in the likes of Mulumby and Reach. Why? they couldn't lace Field's boots. We're in a bad state and Steve Bruce isn't the answer. His idea of trying to build a side around Adam Reach tells us enough. The season is now over, so get someone in who will install some pride at least. Bruce isn't inspiring anyone except the fans of the opposition. Honestly can't see where our next win is coming from. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Salopbaggie - 01-03-2022 I am beginning to think there must be more going on. Lets not forget this is pretty much the same team that was top last October, in 4th on New Years Day, how is it realistically possible all the players suddenly lose their form at the same time? More experienced people than me, when was it least this bad? Mid 90s? We're well on course for our worst final league placing since 2000, and even that season finished with a bit of upward momentum courtesy of Gary Megson's arrival, so yeah, the 1990s would be the last time we were so totally rudderless. Sooner or later people will vote with their feet, and you really can't blame them. Worth mentioning Ska'd our league position in 2000-2001 was 6th, so on course to be much worse. Since 2000 our lowest ever position in the Championship was 4th. No, I meant the season that finished in May 2000, when we finished 21st. That was when Megson took over in March and guided us to safety after we looked relegation certs. |
