There really wasn’t a poor performance across the whole team. Bannan was MOM for me, he ran the midfield for most of the game and looks so dangerous when he runs forward with the bal. Butterfield was solid, nothing spectacular but thats not his job. Reach and Fox look good down the left, they both get forward well and Reach covers for Fox when he gets forward. Hooper looks off a bit but works hard, two weeks off will do him good. Him and Rhodes looked better today, more in sync than last game and Rhodes got another goal, that bodes well.
We have now put in 4 decent performances, Derby was a good battling performance but being down to 10 after 4 mins made it very tough to get a result, the first half against the Dingles was very good, tailed off in the second, Millwall we started well again and ground out a result and today we looked back to our best for the first half and kept it tight and solid under pressure from them in the second. On the whole there has been a marked improvement in our performances over the past month.

HUNT...7He is the most improved player by a country mile this season defended on his own for much of the game and did everything perfectly
LEES...5Im not sure what has happened to this fellow hes showing the form which got him sold from leeds
he gave away silly free kicks and lost out a few times in the air in our six yard box on another day we might have picked the ball out of the net 3 times 
LOOVENS...8Immense solid controlled warrior like perfomance from our captain today
for god sake stay away from Holland over this break FOX...7Snodgrass is not the easiest to play against and he had him in his pocket so much that the only escape was to twist his own nipple to be taken off
good solid performance caught out right at the death read westwood BANNAN...8Villas style sooted him right down to the ground he played wonderfully today and was helped by Butterfield who gave him space to be just about everywhere on the pitch , he even played center forward today for 5 minutes
BUTTERFIELD....9 MOM Outstanding display covered Bannan perfectly won 90% of all second balls moved and passed with pace and determination lets hope the break doesnt stop him becoming exactly what we have been missing in the middle of the field
WALLACE...5Not good enough when he had chances to hit Villa on the break and hurt them he flopped his crossing is poor his shooting is poor and his defending doesnt exsist he is the only player from todays team i would change and make way for lee after the break

he did have a better game today allround and looked less nervous HOOPER...6A good first half knitting all the play together followed by a piss poor second half performance due to the fact hes not fit
why is he still not fit is beyond me ? he needs his own personal fitness trainer if we are going to get 100% out of him i just dont understand it

thats 2 games on the trot hes started and he looks confident through it Fletcher is nowhere near him when he plays like this PALMER...5His first 15 minutes on the pitch were just awfull he didnt know what he was supposed to be doing and with it didnt defend well his positioning left Hunt exposed and when he got a chance to run at the Villa defence he stopped and waited for god knows what ? he missed a complete sitter which even colin west would have scored
but he stuck with it and in the last 5 minutes played some good possesion with Fletcher running down the clock still hes not good enough and we have to move him on FLETCHER...5Very dissapointed with his lack of effort in the first 15 minutes he came on
as he basically stood on his jacks picking his arse while the very tired Hooper who should have gone of 30 minutes crawled around on his knees but he did play the last 5 minutes of the clock down well with palmer hence the 5 JONES...NO RATING

i thought his substitution of palmer was something new aswell pity palmer hadnt read his mind the only thing i can fault him today was keeping Hooper on untill the death ? i just didnt understand it Hooper was crawling around at last hes beaten bruce aswell good win but with the shit start weve had he owes us a very long run of wins starting with Bristol & Fulham at home anything less and we will be right out of the top 6 yet again Special mentions to the Kit and black shorts

Can’t disagree too much with that Imre. I would have swapped Bannan’s and Butterfield’s marks, but maybe its the combination that is the most important thing that seems to be working. Bit harsh on Lees maybe, I thought the whole defence was solid today, gave them very little all match. This needs to be the team going into the next few games for me, even Wallace!! If you play Lee instead of Wallace I fear that we may see Hunt exposed or not see him getting forward, but if he did make that switch I wouldn’t complain too much. For me though, Rhodes/Hooper is the way to go up top, they will get better playing together and Rhodes will score sitters like others miss!!

i wonder who wants Sunderland now aswell bottom of the league ? there is going to be a merry go round in this break teams involed are Everton Sunderland Hull like you say ! also WBA Swansea and Westham from the prem arnt happy !!! Burnley and the pigs are also involed not to there liking but they are...i cant see Leeds bieng involed though untill at least xmas when the horse has bolted

Back to us and what worries me still today is that we are open to attack and we still look very weak against anyone with any bolloxs ..as luck would have it the biggest balls on the park left through injury by there own making
we still dont have anyone who can stamp on players heads and say im here now feff off !! and that is worrying as the Pigs do we are still not ready to play them yet will time with these players make a difference ? i doubt it what i do have hope in is that fessi is back and he can do the damage ? Rhodes scoring from sniffer Rush type positions is also an option ? but the midfield even today would not be suitable for a blood and guts match !! CC for me still has to go for us moving on hes again shot himself in the foot in the interview now saying my team is good enough for the playoffs ??? WTF ??? even hes given up on automatic like us .. that cant be right surely

I think the Blunts might be able to hang onto Wilder for at least this season, mainly because he grew up a fan and will want to try to see the job through. If they don’t go up then he will be off in the summer. Dyche must be who Everton are after, he deserves a shot at a bigger club than Burnley, where he has done brilliantly. God knows who will go to Sunderland!!
Be interesting to see if West Ham or Hull make a change this week.
