Cannot now see Kipre going out on loan after the sale of Hegazi, as this would leave us short of cover. Unless we are looking to bring a centre half in with Steve Cook of Bournemouth muted.

Ajayi and Ivanovic are good enough, O'Shea possibly, and Slaven thinks Bartley is. Surely we don't need to buy more, especially if Kipre's loan would include recall powers. Centre half is not our glaringly obvious need.

BaggieSteve, I honestly think that when he was in our team at, what, 21 or 22, he was the best prospect I've ever seen. So much natural talent and superb technique.
Unfortunately I'm not sure whether he's gone too far off the track to either redeem his crass behaviour with our supporters OR get back to anything like his former level, playing - wise.
It would be great to see him being a humble character and with his head down, really trying FOR THE TEAM. I for one would love to see THAT SB back at the club, but could that be guaranteed?

Drewks, in all honesty, you’re probably spot on and I don’t, for one minute, see it as even a remote possibility. I guess it just made me think what a talent he was, as you say, and what a wasted opportunity for all concerned

Sounds like people think he was a twat, but he was our twat. My thoughts are he had a special talent, but he was so arrogant he wasted it, and was badly advised, plus listened to the wrong people. I am not a pulis fan but how many times did he cover for him. Many! For me to ever accept him back, he needs to climb to the top of the Hawthorns and shout ‘Jeremy was right and I AM A TWAT ‘ for a full 90 minutes. I tell you one thing I bet Stoke would not take him back.

I really like Bilic and his approach to how the game should be played, but our players don't have the quality to play
attacking football when goals scored out number goals conceded. It's great for the fans when it works, but IMO which
ever club has adopted this approach has a fantastic start but it never lasts.
Couple of sides who tried it and looked superb initially, but it all fell apart after a few months.
Malcolm Allison's Man City and Kevin Kegan's Newcastle come to mind.

I'm going with Slick on this one...
I think Allardyce is the only one who could keep us up, while still playing a modicum of entertaining football.
As has been said, he is not Pulis, he can still set a team up to attack, but can also instill the grittiness, fight
and experience required to stay in the division.
Not a popular choice I know... But without him, I fear the writing may already be on the wall for this season...
