RE: Brentford v SWFC Match Thread - Washington - 27-08-2016 19 shots with 11 on target isn't evidence that we aren't trying - just a sign of their GK having a blinder and defender clearance off the line in combination with them getting a freak goal We kept going to the end which is why we got the equalizer. After the international break we just need to get back on a winning run. This is a tough league and the preseason favorites for the top 2 aren't there either. We need to take a breath and see where we are after 10 games before going into the sky is falling mode. And not only that it's a myriad of poor planning that led us here. Oversights that are costing dearly. Stats can be fantastic. Burton had 5 shots on target I think and scored 3 against us. Fletcher has never been prolific, Nuhiu and Joao try but can't score, FF doesn't want to be here and Hooper can score but must be lazy or something !!! If we had a finisher we would have the game over by half time. RE: Brentford v SWFC Match Thread - Washington - 27-08-2016 Stats can be fantastic. Burton had 5 shots on target I think and scored 3 against us. But that was down to our s*** defending in that game rather than their ace strikers RE: Brentford v SWFC Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 27-08-2016 This championship season is all over the place for most teams!! Brum beat Norwich 3-0, Brizzle come back to beat Villa 3-1, Village top, with the team that sold their one good player sitting second. Top six is made of of none of the relegated teams or last season's play off teams. As I said it's all over the place!!! As regards signings, we have signed Fletcher (we all agreed that was a good signing), Abdi (4m), Pudil (2m - a signing we all wanted), Sasso (another one being called for), Buckley and Jones. That puts us up with the rest of the division in terms of numbers and ahead of most in terms of quality. It's not clicking yet, but there is no reason to think it won't. As Imre said, win our upcoming home games and everything changes. But if you don't create the chances by simply giving up possession then you for sure won't get anywhere!!! We can all pick stats that say one thing or another, today we put in a very good first half performance with a more even second half. We did fight back when other teams would have given up and their keeper made a bunch of what were described as superb saves, as well as 2 or 3 off the line. It's not good enough on the whole, we need to get the strikers scoring but I don't get why it's all Armageddon and conspiracy theory instead of it just being a few poor performances that if we keep creating the chances could turn round very quickly?? RE: Brentford v SWFC Match Thread - Owlkev71 - 27-08-2016 The transfer window closes on Wednesday, I would hope for a couple of signings and some of the deadwood finally got rid of. CC did say after the Villa game, if it took until the 31st August to get the right players then that's what it would be. RE: Brentford v SWFC Match Thread - Daffodils on the piano - 27-08-2016 What we have to remember is this is Sheffield Wednesday,we should be used to this,we have been getting it for the last 20 years apart from last season. They never fail to disappoint,I've been watching them for over 50 years and it's been more low than high. So would I, but unless they improve the starting 11 then I wouldn't bother. I am hoping that's what CC means by the right players. So far we have signed essentially 3 first team players that should improve the team in Abdi, Pudil and Fletcher, the rest are squad players, which we need. As regards the deadwood, let's be careful getting rid of them as we could leave the squad too thin. McGugan, Dielna, Bus etc can leave for sure, but let's replace them as well with better. And it's what happened at the start of last season as well, so nothing new!! Stateside - I am glass half full and always will be, you are more of a cynic than me. We both want the same thing so let's keep debating from our ends of the spectrum!!!!! RE: Brentford v SWFC Match Thread - Owlkev71 - 27-08-2016 Do we want a smaller squad with more quality or bigger with a few deadwood? RE: Brentford v SWFC Match Thread - Imre varadi - 27-08-2016 sell fessi the end !! hes the cause of this dip in form xxxx him off sign rhodes no money lost good xxxx riddance !! the rest dont realy make a difference ?
