Birmingham v The Owls SBC Match Thread
Posted by: Owlkev71 - 14-10-2020, 13:39 - Forum: Sheffield Wednesday - Replies (42)

THE MATCH

SATURDAY 17TH OCTOBER 3:00PM KICK OFF

[Image: 51oB4LjLD1L._AC_SX355_.jpg] v [Image: c8f0e1f02feea03b72811b4b50c0f4c0--britis...nesday.jpg]

LAST MATCH

In typical Wednesday fashion, which happened a lot last season, we threw points away in injury time. Not much happened in the first half apart from QPR hitting the post. Onto the 2nd half, and we started a bit brighter and were rewarded when QPR put the ball in there own work after some nice play by Bannan & Reach. Reach tested there keeper and Luongo hit the bar as we continued to be the better team. We were forced to play with 10 men for the dying embers of the game when Lees went off injured and we had made all our subs. QPR then equalized in the 96th minute when Bonne scored with a free header.

THE MATCH

Next up after the international break and to one of Monk's former teams, Birmingham. The Brummies have made an unbeaten start to the league, but have only won 1 of the 4 games, scoring only 3 and conceding only 2. They are now managed by Karanka who previously managed at Boro & Forest. They have the likes of Jutkiewicz, Hogan, Friend & Etheridge. Birmingham's problem look like being the same as ours, putting the ball in the net so probably 0-0 would be the expected result on Saturday.

Anything later unless it is a Major error will NOT be corrected. It is as much your responsibility to check your scores as much as it is ours to try and score them correctly.

  Macclesfield have a new saviour
Posted by: Lord Snooty - 13-10-2020, 15:13 - Forum: Macclesfield FC - Replies (2)

Robbie Savage has just announced on Twitter that Macclesfield have been bought by a local businessman and that he, Savage has been appointed Director of football.

Ok. So where do they start from? The very bottom alongside Bury or will they be given their allotted National League games to play?

And why are they still down as League Two on here? Rolleyes

Cove Rangers 1 Hibs 2 - Hibs "ticking over" nicely in their League Cup group!
Posted by: 0762 - 12-10-2020, 17:44 - Forum: Hibernian - No Replies

A revamped Hibs side played poorly in the 1st half but suddenly coming to life in the second half to win it and with a "wonderful second goal" scored by Nisbet to scoop up all three pts. He'll be getting "called up" by the Scotland manager if he continues with this impressive form.

Scotland v Czechoslovakia, Wed 14 October, KO 7.45pm
Posted by: 0762 - 12-10-2020, 17:35 - Forum: International Matches - Replies (5)

Another new challenge for Steve Clarke and his players with, no doubt, further changes to personnel due to the demanding number of fixtures played during such a short period. Robertson is suspended due to a piece of needless petulance that resulted in another yellow card being issued to him. Who comes in at LB without Tierney being available? Cooper is out injured. Therefore Andrew Considine prob asked to do another stint alongside Gallagher or Clarke gives Ryan Porteous a Scotland debut. Will he try to refresh the mid formation but try to hold the same solid "shape"? Also up front will he use "two up top" v a dangerous Czech side? A win would definitely be a godsend but it will be tough.

HTAFC Prediction League 2020/21 Matchday 7
Posted by: Lord Snooty - 11-10-2020, 22:48 - Forum: Huddersfield Town - Replies (23)

2 points for a correct result
4 points for a correct score
2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score   Laugh
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points Badger

The random badger Badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."  Rolleyes
The joker  Laugh is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.

Cup games:
In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties.

Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in. Wink
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.  Rolleyes
