Premier League
Player Pts CS CR GB BB SB
Snooty 21 2 4 5 3 1
B.B.B. 17 0 6 5 3 1
Sanjay 16 2 3 NP 3 1
St Charles 9 1 2 5 -3 1
Amelia 8 1 2 -3 6 1
Themaclad 7 1 1 5 -3 1
Twerton 6 1 2 NP -3 1
Derby 5 0 2 5 -3 1
A.A.A. 2 0 2 NP -3 1
Bomber 1 1 1 -3 -3 1
So after the chaos of last season we have reached the end of a season that was somewhat normal. I am sure all of you enjoyed being allowed to have your family members cheer you on during this last week as you made your predictions!!!
Lord Snooty put in a great finishing week and amassed 21 points, scoring on 6 games including a CR on the Gamball. BBB cemented his place at the top of the table with a good 17 points, I think he can now call himself Champion!! Sanjay put up a fight for the runners-up spot finishing 3rd with 16 points, but with St Charles right behind him it might not be quite enough.
The bottom 4 in the table - Amelia, Themaclad, Twerton and Derby - were separated by just a few points this week, so we are not likely to see much movement in the final table. AAA comes in 9th and Bomber lived up to his name and bombed in the final week!!
BBB - 354
St Charles - 297
Sanjay - 290
Lord Snooty - 271
Bomber - 267
AAA - 252
Derby - 244
Amelia - 241
Themaclad - 209
Twerton - 200
So our mini Premier League pretty much mirrored the real thing!! The Champions were ahead most of the season and ran away with it, the real battle came behind for the Euro spots, mid table didn't change much and the relegation spots were confirmed a few weeks ago!!
BBB can now be deservedly crowned 2020-21 Champion!! He led most of the way and was really never under any pressure from the halfway mark of the season onwards.
St Charles and Sanjay battled backwards and forwards for the runner-up spot and in the end SCO hung on by just 7 points!!
Lord Snooty had a rollercoaster season but his great last week saw him snatch 4th place in the end. Bomber just ran out of gas in the end but he was able to stay ahead of AAA.
The real battle was for the relegation PO spot where Derby and Amelia battled for the final few weeks. In the end Derby just managed to stay ahead of Amelia and therefore we will see Amelia fight for her PL place on more time next week!!
Themaclad and Twerton finished pretty much where they were all season!!
Thanks to everyone for taking part, its for most of us to rebuild and get used to a new League in real life!! Have a great summer and I hope we will all come back next season refreshed and ready to go again!!
Cheers

Thank God it's over. A season that started with so much promise, quickly became a struggle, was lit up by occasional moments of quality but ultimately faded into disappointment. Well, that's my prediction league experience, how was it for everyone else?
With certain exceptions, the final week of the season was a good one - only 1 failed gamball, everyone scoring on the scoreball and 7 players in double figures. Lady jane saved her best for last, heading the table with her best score of the season thanks to a full set of positive balls. DD and Somerset share 2nd place with identical records with Stairs just a further point behind, thankful for not playing his gamball. Joker and BaggieOne also had a good week, Joker sharing the week's high of 2 correct scores but losing out on his bonus. Silver also achieved double figures but will that be enough to keep his season alive?
We won't talk about the other 2 players.
And so, the final Championship able (cue drum roll, fireworks etc etc)
Minizin 303
BaggieOne 297
Silver 284
Somerset 282
Stairs 280
Zinman 273
DD 263
Joker 248
Lady Jane 232
So the regular season comes to an end with Minizin crawling over the line to claim the Championship title. BaggieOne recovered fro a poor start to the season to claim the second promotion spot and holding off strong late challenges. It was a close battle for the play off position with both Somerset and Stairs making late chargs that were not quite enough to prevent Silver from holding on to 3rd place. Zinman's last week gambles failed miserably to leave him some way adrift. The bottom 3 were unchanged though at least Lady Jane ended her season on a high after a pretty miserable year.
Congratulations to Minizin and BaggieOne and good luck to Silver in the play-off. Thanks to everyone for sticking through this for 9 months (it was probably easier than sticking with Albion!) - I'm off to spend more time with my hammock in the California sunshine, trying not to log on to various websites to see who we've appointed/bought/sold.......
Zin
So we have one more week to go with the Relegation/Promotion Playoff which will see Amelia take on Silver!! Bomber will post the fixtures when he feels like it!! Good luck to both of you!!

When "expert" juries across 39 countries and members of the public across Europe, with enough interest to express an opinion, combine to give you nil, null, zero points you have surely to begin taking notice, dontcha?
The Eurovision Song Contest is a bit of fun. It's crap songs in an over-blown setting, performed with camp enthusiasm in ridiculous clothing buried deep enough in visual gimmicks to make the audience forget that this is the musical equivalent of a selling handicap in horse racing, and that they've paid through the nose to be there.
The winners by ze country mile were an etiolated band of Northern Italian boys, excited by their own sexuality, playing a faux-rock number with lyrics growled by their lead singer, who clearly saw himself as a stallion, even though he looked like a refugee from The Sweet. For this they received 524 votes, whilst our chubby contender, dressed by a homelessness charity in a discarded fur coat, strode aimlessly about accumulating no votes. And it wasn't a measure of how much the rest of Europe hates us, it was an accurate reflection of the gulf. Ours was the worst "song for Europe" since Father Ted's "My Lovely Pony". It had next to nothing to say and still didn't manage to say it. It was performed by a singer who would be classified as a bad singer on I Can See Your Voice. Charm, wit, presentation, appearance, whatever scale you care to mention, he registered zero and then when the votes were cast he had the effrontery to own his abysmal failure and take cheers, as if somehow a verdict stretching all the way to Australia was wrong.
Dear old Graham Norton would have been wise to revert to his own Father Ted character and tell the entire unpalatable truth until the fat boy finally gave up singing forever. We have a massive music industry in the UK the size of the whole of the rest of Europe's put together. We literally have millions of people who can carry a note, lots of them look really good, are really good fun, love to perform and loads of them have real actual talent ..... yet, not for the first time, we choose someone who lacks all these qualities. The Beeb might as well have sent Martin Bashir.
"I feel so sorry for James," bleated Graham Norton as we prepared to re-enter national mourning. I don't feel sorry for James, the effin' Giant Peach couldn't have done a worse job.
Couldn't we hand it over to ITV so at least the song and singer chosen might be commercially successful? At least then the rest of Europe could avoid voting for us, because they hate us. If we came last because we sent something good, then at least Eurovision could measure itself. Albania FFS sent a good singer. It didn't do them much good, but at least they had a good singer. There has to be a point at which being sh1t at being sh1t becomes a failure, not a success, and we passed that back down the euro road years ago.
James, you were flatter than Marc Almond on Tainted Love, your movement was worse than Judy Murray's on Strictly, your song took forgettable to a previously unattainable level at which it was gone before it ended, you looked middle-aged ........ though you might have a future in Last of the Summer Wine, were not most of the others involved already dead, and of course everyone loved you back stage; they all knew they weren't going to come last.
When you are known as a song writer and you've lived long enough to put on weight, and nobody has asked you to perform before, THERE'S A REASON! Okay?

Not a lot of movement over the last 2 weeks. It would appear our best scoring weeks were at the beginning of the season - fresh minds maybe?
Baggie 1 continues to move up places and was in wk30 in 3rd place, which was quickly taken back in wk31 by S Charles, and both closing in on Minizin. Sanjay after being 3rd for 5 weeks falling away to 5th. Amelia after up to 13th moves down to 16th and one place about Lady Jane. And Twerton interestingly has over the past weeks has had good scores and in wk30 moved 3pts ahead of Themoclad who promptly retook in wk31 and returns the Overall Wooden Spoon.
BBB retains 1st place for the 30th consecutive week. Minizin 2nd for the 11th week.
