Gateshead have been deducted one point by the National League for fielding an ineligible player.
The deduction sees the Heed slip back into the fifth-tier relegation zone.
The National League said in a statement that the player had featured in a game despite being suspended, and also fined the club £750.
In a statement Gateshead said "substantial" mitigation had been put to the league in their defence, but they have accepted the decision.
They also said the breach was made because of an "administrative error".
Meanwhile, National League South side Welling have also been deducted one point after failing to ensure a player had international clearance.
The Wings remain in 15th in the sixth tier.

A winding-up petition against Southend United has been dismissed by a judge after the club paid £1.4m owed to HM Revenue & Customs.
Southend said on Tuesday that the debt had been cleared and the club also had new "funds as working capital".
The Shrimpers have faced a series of winding-up petitions in recent years, and the previous one was dismissed in January 2020.
Southend are in seventh place in the National League table.
The club were founded in 1906 and have been based at Roots Hall for 68 years.
In a brief hearing at the Insolvency and Companies Court, a lawyer representing HMRC confirmed the outstanding money had been paid.
Judge Sally Barber then dismissed the petition.
Southend chairman Ron Martin vowed earlier this month that he would not let the club be wound-up and insisted the future will be "bright" when they move from Roots Hall to a new site at Fossetts Farm.
However, supporters' groups began exploratory work about setting up a 'phoenix club' in case the HMRC payment was not made in time for Wednesday's hearing.
Martin bought the club for £4m almost 25 years ago but has been the target of several protest by fans in recent years.

Last autumn, the club revised its plans, reducing the capacity at the new stadium from 21,000 to 16,226.
Chief executive Tom Lawrence said in January that the club hoped building work could commence "before the second quarter" of 2023.
They do, however, have an annual funding gap of £2m and had been seeking bridging finance, thought to be £5m, to clear the HMRC debt and move the club forwards.

2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points
The random badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."
The joker is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.
The prize for winning the league is one rep point.
Cup games: In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties. Similarly with the badger, if your random prediction is affected by this, it'll be half the points.
Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in.
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.
End of season Play Offs: The one who finishes top of the league will still be champion, but after the season finishes there will be Play Offs between the top 4, with 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd. This will take in stuff like the EFL Play Offs, FA Cup Final, final day of Prima Donna League, European Finals etc. It will be one matchday for the semis and one for the Final. It will be the individual scores for each matchday against the allotted opponent, with some kind of tie breaker for a drawn match.
The prize for winning will be enormous. Another rep point.

Danger Man
Viktor Einar Gyökeres (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈɟøkɛrɛʃ];[3] born 4 June 1998) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Championship side Coventry City and Sweden national team.
He made his senior debut with Swedish side Brommapojkarna in 2015 with whom he made over 50 appearances before signing for Brighton three years later.
He has also represented Sweden at various youth levels and was the joint-top goalscorer at the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, before making his senior international debut in 2019.

In The Dressing Room
Ched Evans will be back in contention for PNE, having served the four-game suspension he was given retrospectively for an incident in the home game against Bristol City.
Meanwhile, Ben Whiteman will serve the final game of his ban and Robbie Brady will also miss out following his late red card in the victory over Wigan Athletic.
Andrew Hughes remains a doubt due to the injury which he picked up away at Hull City.
A Look At Our Visitors
Coventry City – in their third season back in the Championship – will arrive at Deepdale sat one place above PNE in the table, with a three-point advantage.
Mark Robins’ side are no doubt full of confidence having won each of their last three Championship fixtures, coming out on top against Millwall, Rotherham United and Sunderland.
In their victory over the latter, they lost an important player in Kasey Palmer to injury, but the Sky Blues will be hoping they can maintain their place in the top half of the division, and potentially make a late push for the top six.
Going Head To Head
Games played: 45
PNE wins: 20
Draws: 15
Coventry City wins: 10
Last meeting: Coventry City 0-1 PNE, 31st August 2022
One To Watch
After initially joining on loan in January 2021, Viktor Gyökeres has been a revelation at Coventry City since his permanent move in July later that year.
The Sweden international netted a hugely impressive 17 Championship goals last season and he’s well on his way to bettering that tally this term, with 15 already to his name.
The 24-year-old has scored in each of the last three fixtures, and his goal and assist in their last game, against Sunderland, marked his 100th appearance for the club.
Match Officials
John Busby will take charge of Tuesday night’s game, having also refereed the reverse fixture between the two sides earlier in the season.
Busby showed two yellow cards as he oversaw PNE’s 1-0 win over the Sky Blues in August, while his other North End game this campaign was the 1-0 home victory over Swansea City at the beginning of November.
In total this season, he has taken charge of 23 matches, showing 82 yellow cards and three reds.
MACS VIEW
Unless Sky mess up the fixtures this is the last match at home at night this season, can we build on our super duper win against the Pies on Saturday or is it back to our miserable home form. Surprised at Cov this season given the nightmare start to the season when they couldn't play at home due to Ruby Union screwing up the pitch actually thought they would struggle but having a decent manager is always a godsend
Should be an entertaining game, still hold a grudge against Coventry for forcing me to actually have to watch Carlton Palmer play against us in a League Cup tie, win this and we can dream about the playoffs because that is what we will ony do, dream about them

Another very entertaining match from Scotland, but France too strong and skilful at home in racking up the pts plus a bonus pt "into the bargain". And two players, Gilchrist and Haoas, red-carded during separate incidents in the first 12 mins while France "fast out of the blocks" during that period to make the score 12-0. What a match!! However, a defining moment in a real battling performance by Scotland was Finn Russell's unfortunate long pass intercepted by a French full back in the first half, a free run to Scotland's try line - can't err in this way at this level and expect to win! The score line should've been much closer at the end all the same.

Good to see the Hoops retaining the league cup esp after witnessing the Hun disrespect of the pre-KO min's silence for the passing of Ron Gordon - such a lack of class, but no surprise btw!! This was a repeat of the previous final v Hibs where Kyogo scored a double to win 2-1 and lift the trophy. In truth, the Japanese striker really should've scored three or four goals in the first 60 mins of this game and also in the dying mins the score line should've been made more emphatic with some fast breakaway attacks that ripped through Rangers threadbare defence only to see some poor finishing prevail, particularly from a fleet-footed Haksabanovic who could've scored a 'brace' of goals. Anyway, that's the first trophy in the silverware cabinet, albeit not the greatest of matches and a tad 'scrappy' on occasions. Celtic the better side and contrary to the pre-match comment uttered by Rangers' striker, Sakala.

Daryl McMahon has left his position as manager of National League Dagenham & Redbridge by mutual agreement.
McMahon was appointed in January 2020 and led the Daggers to finishes of 12th and eighth in his two full seasons in charge of the fifth-tier side.
Dagenham are 10th in the table, five points below the play-off places.
Steve Gritt and Dave Jupp will be in control of the first team until a replacement is found, starting with Saturday's trip to Notts County.
A statement on the club website said: "Following discussions between Daryl and the board, it has been agreed that this is the right time for a change.
"The club would like to thank Daryl for his extreme professionalism throughout his period with us, especially through the extreme circumstances that Covid brought, and wish him and his family every success for the future."
