Entrepreneur Prabhu Srinivasan has completed the takeover of National League club Yeovil Town from former owner Martin Hellier.

Srinivasan's family office, Inflection Holdings, have acquired all shares previously held by the Hellier Trading Group, with Srinivasan becoming owner and chairman.

Hellier stepped down as chairman at the end of March and confirmed his intention to sell the Glovers.

"Investing in Yeovil Town Football Club is a moment of immense pride for us," Srinivasan said.

"This club's rich history and potential inspired us, and we are committed to being a responsible steward as we embark on an exciting new journey together. We are focused on making a positive impact on players, fans, employees and the entire community."

Srinivasan, who lives in Dubai, is said to have 30 years of experience in banking, retail, technology, travel, real estate, e-waste and wellness.

A club statement said he has also "built one of the largest multi-sports youth platforms in India and the Middle East".
Stuart Robins, who was made interim chairman after Hellier stepped down, has become executive chairman and will work alongside Srinivasan.
The purchase marks the second takeover at Yeovil in the past three years, and ends a successful but stormy chapter at Huish Park under the ownership of Hellier, who took over in May 2023.

Hellier, a long-time Yeovil fan and previous club sponsor through his firm, took over the Glovers during another turbulent period, following a failed takeover attempt by the SU Glovers and the club's relegation from the National League.
The club won promotion from National League South in 2024, although recently published accounts show the club made a loss of almost £2.8m in the process, and Mark Cooper's men finished 18th in the fifth tier this season, four points above the relegation zone.
However, Hellier's relationship with sections of the fanbase became hostile after he banned some supporters from the ground for comments made on social media. This led to a backlash directed at Hellier, who responded with abusive posts of his own.

Yeovil Town secured immediate promotion back to the National League with two games of the season remaining.

The Glovers beat Truro City 2-0 on Thursday to confirm their return to the fifth tier after one season in the National League South.

Yeovil were relegated to the regional leagues for the first time since 1997 last May.

Victory leaves them nine points clear of second placed Chelmsford at the top of the table.

Having lost 2-1 to Torquay United on Monday and drawn 0-0 with Eastbourne Borough on Wednesday, defeat for Truro - who changed all 10 of their outfield players for the match - leaves them in 19th place, five points above the relegation zone.

They still have four games to play in the next nine days as they make up for a run of postponements.

Rhys Murphy's header gave Yeovil the lead after 12 minutes before Alex Fisher made it 2-0 midway through the second half to secure the win and league title.

Promotion caps a remarkable turnaround for Yeovil after a period marked by discontent and instability around the club's ownership only a year ago, when a sale fell through and staff and players went unpaid.

In May 2023, however, they were taken over by the locally-run Hellier Group and on the pitch things have stabilised.

'A horrible slippery slope' - Yeovil Town's fall from Championship to regional leagues
Manager Mark Cooper stayed on at the club alongside a number of experienced players, including Jordan Young who is this season's top scorer, while 14 new faces were brought in over the summer.

Of their 43 league games, Yeovil have won 27 and were unbeaten from September through November - setting a new 14-game club record unbeaten run in all competitions - and have seen the highest average attendance at home in the league by far this season, with over 3,700.

Yeovil saw their last game on Easter Monday against Weymouth abandoned after 75 minutes due to a medical emergency in the crowd and missed the chance to secure promotion at their home ground last Saturday, when they lost 3-1 to Worthing.

The Glovers' promotion comes after Tamworth also secured their place in the fifth tier for next season having wrapped up the National League North title on Saturday.

'Sights set on back-to-back promotions'
Analysis - Jack Killah, BBC Radio Somerset

What a difference a year makes. At this point in 2023 Yeovil Town were staring down the barrel of relegation and facing a fight to keep the club out of administration.

It had been a decade-long downward spiral for the Glovers, falling from the Championship to the sixth tier of English football.

This season, with a new ownership in place, manager Mark Cooper has been able to build a team with a strong mix of youth and experience.

A 12-game unbeaten league streak before Christmas showed just what the side is capable of. Smart signings like Jake Wannell, Morgan Williams and Michael Smith creating a solid backline to build from.

Promotion back to the National League was always going to be the ambition for the club, but nothing is guaranteed in football.

I spoke to striker Frank Nouble a few weeks ago and he told me he's got his sights set on back-to-back promotions and returning Yeovil Town to the English Football League.

Glovers fans will be hoping that dream becomes a reality.

Former Barrow boss Mark Cooper has been appointed the new First Team Manager of Yeovil Town on a three season deal.
Mark Cooper has extensive management experience in the EFL and National League
Yeovil Town have appointed former Barrow AFC boss Mark Cooper as their manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The 53-year-old has previously managed 10 clubs across the EFL and National League, leading Swindon Town to the League One play-off final in 2015.

He also oversaw Forest Green Rovers' promotion to the EFL in 2017.

"He is a manager I've admired for a long time," said club chairman Scott Priestnall. "Mark has the promotion credentials we are looking for."

Cooper left Barrow by mutual consent in March this year whilst he was serving an eight-match ban for comments he made to a female assistant referee.

The club was sitting just outside the League Two relegation zone at the time.

'This can be a big club'
Yeovil director Stuart Robins had said the club was looking for an 'experienced manager' to replace former boss Chris Hargreaves, who was sacked last week.

"It's good to be here," Cooper, who had a 22-year playing career spanning 17 clubs, told Yeovil's website following his appointment.

"I already know a few of the players and staff so I'm excited and really looking forward to it.

"If you look historically, this can be a big club. We need to unite; the players, the supporters. Everybody needs to come together and that can play such a big part."

The Glovers are currently 21st in the National League and occupy the final relegation place, one point adrift of safety.

They have won just once in their last 10 games in all competitions and scored just twice in their last seven games.

Challenging for promotion 'won't be easy'
Analysis - BBC Radio Somerset's Richard Hoskin

Mark Cooper comes to Huish Park with an encouraging CV for a National League manager.

Short term, his first job will be to get the team up the league table, and scoring goals. No team in the National League has scored fewer goals than Yeovil this season.

Long term, I'm sure his ambition will be to get the club challenging for promotion back into the Football League.

That won't be easy. He joins a football club where many supporters are concerned about issues off the pitch.

Mark Cooper will most likely be aware of those issues - and in his opening comments via the club, he said "we need to unite".

Yeovil Town have sacked manager Chris Hargreaves after less than six months in charge.

The former Torquay United boss was appointed in May on a two-year deal.

Yeovil won just two National league matches under Hargreaves' guidance and were knocked out of the FA Cup by local rivals Taunton Town last week.

"I would firstly like to thank Chris for his effort and professionalism during his time at Huish Park," chairman Scott Priestnall said.

"After internal discussions this week, it has been decided that it's best we go our separate ways.

"We wish Chris every success in the future."

Hargreaves had worked in various coaching roles at Bristol Rovers before moving to the Glovers as successor to Darren Sarll who left Yeovil to take over at Woking.

The 50-year-old's last game in charge was a 2-0 home loss to Aldershot Town on Tuesday - a third defeat in five games.

The Glovers are 21st in the National League and have drawn seven and lost six of their 15 league games under the former midfielder who made over 650 appearances for a variety of clubs including Grimsby Town, Oxford United, Torquay and Northampton Town.

Yeovil have not said who will take over in the interim period or whether Hargreaves' assistants Chris Todd and Marcus Stewart have also left.

"There will be a further update on the management situation before Saturday's trip to Maidstone United," Priestnall added.

The Glovers have also allowed Alex Fisher, Jake Gray, Rhys Browne, Adel Gafaiti, Alefe Santos and Yoann Arquin to leave once their deals expire.
But a contract has been offered to Craig Alcock to stay at Huish Park.
Meanwhile, Yeovil say they are talking to "several high-quality candidates" to replace Darren Way as manager.
Neale Marmon took caretaker charge following Way's sacking on 24 March, but he left the club at the end of the season despite having previously been lined up to become sporting director.
His departure followed the collapse of Rob Couhig's proposed takeover - although Yeovil said in a statement on Wednesday that "discussions are continuing with a small number of serious parties".
